    Hello.

I was thinking of adding a crap load of subdomains to my site. Its a directory listing website.

An example would be florida.@@@@.com Georiga.@@@.com etc and even go as far as TampabayFlorida.@@@.com to get keywords in the domain name. Sort of Mirco Niche it down a bit.

What do you guys think? Will it hurt? Help?

I have one pr1 subdomain already but looking to expand and go with ones with low comp in the Serps first and then rollit out.

    Mike

I think that would only work for organic traffic searching for a long tail keyword. Think about this also: When a lot of people search they tend to look at the URL the listing is pointing to.

If the URL is something like "tampabay.sunshinestate.com" they may pass that up for one that is "tampabay.com"

Of course you could go with .info domains and just 301. :)

I think it's been a while since google gave "bonus points" for having keywords in the third level domain, I noticed that bing seemed to when it first started, however that seems to have diminished as well. Just referring to sites without significant backlinks.

Good idea. Info and 301 redirect. But would you recommend this right out of the gate? Buy the info domain and promote it atricles, scarperbox, senuke all this while having the 301 redirect inplace.

Would the oh mighty Google rank it based of my content from the content of the .com?

Thats what confused me. I was going to buy the info's fill them with content based off the long tail and link it to my main sites directory, which is also keyworded for it aswell.
