Anybody has any luck using subdomains for ranking? There are a few lower search volume keywords that I don't wanna buy domains for. I was wandering, how hard it is to rank subdomain & does it make any or much difference.

    Meaning

    keywordword.com
    keyword.word.com

    Do SEs care?

of course they care, the domain is stronger than a hundred subdomains. If you have an authority site however it's very doable within the same industry/niche your promoting in. We all hate buying domains that's a ****** problem, but we do it because we can convert $8 into $200/month minimally. My advice to you is if the keywords are below 30 searches/day and you think you can rank quickly meaning the competition is low on top of your site having a few years on the domain or high pr links then go for it.

If it's a site with not so many links, no age/high pr backlinks/linkwheels, a subdomain is as useless as the domain. Make sure the searches are worth the domain your buying not only the amount of searches but the probability of your conversion, is this for cpc adsense style monetization or affiliate products?
