While checking the pings to one of my blogs, I noticed what look like incoming pings from digg, nba.com ,etc... my site is brand new site filled with sitejunk content, so I know that these aren't real links from digg, etc...
The webmaster names his domains digg.domainname.com nba.domainname.com , etc... and in the incoming ping summary, it looks like nba.com, digg.com because WP truncates it.
This might be a good trick to use if you're using prstorm. Webmasters are more likely to to publish your pingbacks if they think it's coming from a legitimate source.
