The "i'm stupid" trick... --> Ask a question you damn well know you know the answer too, keep pushing the question and build your post count fast. Make a lot of mistakes and ask for help.
EX Situation:
Q: what is a good html editor? [sure to entice a lot of firey responses as every one has their own opinion]
A: I use dreamweaver
Q: Oh really, i heard that's expensive.. is it worth the money???
A: YEH DUDE
A2: Hell No
A3: SURE IS
Q: So I decided to go ahead and buy it it looks really confusing for a beginner like me are there any good sites to help me out?

threads like the above will have your post count 10 pages deep in a matter of minutes which obviously is sure to get that post count higher than a cloud in no time

When I made a DP account to Flip for $ I just picked random A$$ topics or something I knew about and did as I mentioned above. If you plan on being a seller or have a lot of potential customer influence then focus on smart posting. Remember DP is full of idiots in most cases if you Google it you will find the answer so just do that. Find the "hottest" problem google it and give them a damn fine answer of that first page. rofl. seriously though.
Don't worry about feeling overly stupid... I've seen DP'ers ask what a backlink is!!!
