Im going to buy YouTube advertiser within the next few days, but my computer and internet access is not fast enoguh to run it, so im looking to purchase a VPS!

Silly question: but is a VPS basically another computer you connect to, which has faster internet speeds? If so, can you install stuff on it like games? lol

I love the sims, but i can't play sims 3 on my PC bcos it is not powerful enough, but if my VPS has a good processor and plenty of ram, would i be able to download and install sims 3 on it??

While YTA is doing is thing, i can chill on sims and make my sim some blackhat cash aswell :p

in short...yes...depends on the set-up but none of it will be resticted by your own network speeds as it is hosted elsewhere

Technically you would be able to install The Sims 3 on it, depending on the restrictions put in place by your host. However, remotely connecting to a VPS results in a lot of lag and fps issues on the VPS (in most cases, especially when attempting to run something of the size of The Sims 3), rendering playing, almost impossible.

I am not sure about this, but I think there are always lags when you access a VPS, and some VPS have sound disabled.

PS Sims 3 sucks :) bought it, played it, got boring the 1st day.

Yea, i guess i will have to look for a VPS which is good to host gaming servers?? Im sure there are some out there!

And LukaB your not the only one to tell me that :D but i love the sims and i just figured that number 3 would be the most realistic, but i love number 2 so il probably stick to that if number 3 does nothing for me :p

When I was a bit younger, I was a huge fan of Sims, and Sims 3 wasn't good, so I stopped :).

Quite slow speed you are going to face. May be i am wrong? You need to have atleast acceptable internet speed otherwise else the remote computer will look shady on your side even if it is not. Afterall you are going to use it on your shared bandwidth(slow speed as you mentioned)

It's not as you think mate, your net speed is low, you will be lagging a lot in your VPS, you won't be able to play a game.

Try softsyshosting. Once they set you up all you need to do is connect using remote desktop details they send you and you have yourself a fully functioning desktop in US.
