Stupid 301 Redirect Question

    This might sound stupid, but If I use a 301 redirect who am I redirecting, Go*gle bots? visitors? or both? and where do I redirect them to?

    to clarify

    'The HTTP response status code 301 Moved Permanently is used for permanent redirection'

    so if you 301 a domain you are saying the iste is not here but go over there

    So should I let Go*gle see a page that's in line with advertising Policy and real human traffic to sales page?

    Was thinking about letting anything coming from go*gle IP ranges stay on the page but redirecting real human visitors.

    Would that get me banned quick or am I thinking along the wrong lines of what a 301 is ?

    A 301 is not selective - everything is redirected to the new domain

    Unless it's defined to 301'd bots only.
