I have had varying degrees of success with StumbleUpon over the years, but now am scratching my head asking what is going on...

I always stumble other peoples content before mine (4:1 ratio - 4 others to 1 mine), and try to follow all the rules. I have a few articles that received a few hundred or few thousand stumbles/visitors, but others that are very similar get NONE.

    I don't get it...

What are the keys to success with SU. I find it hard to believe that one article can magically get 20,000 views, when another very similar viral article gets 5 views.

Any advice is appreciated on how to best use StumbleUpon.

Also, what is the benefit to:
    - Lists
    - Likes
    - Comments

    Thanks!

Stumbleupon is butt IMHO. You're better off finding another social media platform to get traffic. All you're going to get from stumbleupon is high bounce rate (my experience)

Yes, @erickishere is right. You better stay away from SU and find another way to get traffic. SU's average bounce rate is 90% which is terrible.

What you are doing wrong in my opinion is using Stumbleupon, the traffic is nothing but crap, and no less quality than those shit services on Fiverr that you can blast yours site with traffic. It is certainly not what I would be dedicating my time to.

All of the above. But most importantly - just leave SU. It's a traffic gamble that won't make you any revenue and might actually do you some harm with the help of the awful bounce rate.

Even the paid traffic from SU is useless, just like from Facebook and other social networks.
