When people post only to get the approval of others (e.g. lots of "thanks" clicks) rather than give their true thoughts or anything of value

No, the OP asked what "annoys" us on forums. My intentions were never to get any "thanks" for that post, but to answer the question.
What about your post? It neither answers the question nor does it give value. Did you want a "thanks" for it?

I agree, BUT it prevent the method/list/url to get all to spammy and known, one option is to PM the auther of that post, if they still are active on the forum.. :/
@ HFlame7 About the Thanks button, I use it instead of leaving a post like "Hey thx for that post, just what i was looking for" or "That rly helped me" if I havent been active in the thread befor.

I appreciate the concern, but there was never any issue between us, was just defending myself

It's no big deal though and it doesn't cause me any sleepless nights or anything. I was simply answering the OP's question about what "annoys" me on forums. It was never meant to offend anyone.

People (any people) who abuse other members, especially those who have asked for help or those who have offered help. Either way, just because it's a "black hat" site doesn't mean that they have to be nasty. If you can't offer a helpful comment, why bother spending your precious time posting at all.
All it does is make members fear posting again in the future and potentially leave the forum altogether with a bad taste in their mouth about their experience here that they will carry with them --- and that fear will prevent you and the rest of the forum members from ever learning from that person.
It also scares off others from posting because they fear that their strategies might not be welcomed, that someone will say "same rehashed crap" or give them heat or put them down from sharing a nugget. If everyone felt comfortable being able to post their advice or ask their questions, the forum will most definitely be a greater resource and you will learn a lot more tips and strategies that people are willing to share.
