Struggling with Merch by Amazon.

Why is this so difficult. Im in so many merch by amazon fb groups. Every day I see people posting they sold this many shirts today. Or they have tiered up. I've sold 1 shirt out if 15 designs up. I took Chris Greenes course. What am I doing wrong. How are people balling like this? Lol

I was approved in August . I was very excited and uploaded 8 design without any sale like you so I also started researching, joined lots of merch fb groups. Fb group does not help me anyway. However after lots of reading and brain storming I came up with the idea that "find out what sells" Then use that word with different fonts. ( i tried trending but failed).

Second trick I learned was I enter a keyword in amazon.com (clothing shoes and Jewelery Dept) for example I typed "dont " and I get other suggestions, from that I selected " dont worry be yonce shirt " from the result I clicked on a merch by amazon shirt that sells. From it I clicked on the store. And wow I get 872 results. Out of which first 12 shirts are selling good ( Rank is in six figure) . So you get 12 different words, now again go deep and select with low competition.

Once you have a hang of it, It is not difficult, especially if you know photoshop like me. Don't lose hope and remember 80:20 Rule.

To give you more inspiration, here is my short stats.



At present I am stuck up at tire 100 designs. I have uploaded around 16 designs related to halloween and not a single sale LOL

Are you guys selling a design or it's something like a drop shipping?

Merch by Amazon is similar to Zazzle, Teespring and Cafe Press. Yes we are uploading the Designs rest is done by Amazon.

You just goto the site and apply. Generally takes several months to get approved. Google Merch by Amazon as I cannot link yet.

@jclee4 - As "Claire" has mentioned, learn all you can about "long tail keywords".

Most of the information online is for ranking in Google, but the same applies to MBA.

Amazon is after all only a search engine.

Research, research and then test.

I have a few accounts doing over 100 sales a week, and when mixed with other promotion ideas, has been the easiest money I've made online.

Are you using the long tail keywords in your descriptions etc to get found better or mostly to design desirable shirts?

Both... look for easy to rank long tails with sales (under 1000 competing designs & several shirts with good sales rank), make a better or put a twist on a design and list.

Exactly the same way you would look for easy to rank keywords for an article, research low comp keywords, optimize the content better than competitors and rank and bank.

I could but then I'd have to upload 10 or 20 designs to flood the KW.

Sign up for merchant words for a month and scrape the lists, then simply go through and find easy to rank KW's. Not difficult.

You can use two plugins: One is called Unicorn Smasher and the other is called DS Amazon Quick View. Also goto YouTube and search merch by amazon keyword research. Lots of help there.
