As many SEOs around I'm deeply involved on several huge traffic keywords. You know, the prizes.

Today while checking the SERPs for 'online casino' I couldn't help to notice this site that has been making an appearance on the top 30 for the last 2 months. ase2009.com

This site must be using some really interesting technique because if you compare it to anything worthy of being on page 1 for 'online casino' it's utter crap.

I wanted to open a discussion on how do you guys think this guy is achieving such a big ranking for a keyword that has always been cemented by huge sites and where black hats are hired every day to work on it?

Nice observation Aster, I'm also interested in why it has held its spot for so long.

I would have to agree that it is in the number of links and possibly some other factors. It looks like the owner either picked it up as an aged domain or owned it originally and converted it to the online casino theme.

If you look at the site indexed in Google it is only showing 12 pages indexed and some of those are PDF's. It's also apparent that the site name was registered for the Australian Society of Endodontology. The conversion was also done very recently. If you check out the Google cache for this page it is still showing ASE information. That cache is a snapshot by Google on Jan 26, 2010

    It's actually quite simple:

He has a ton of backlinks which come only from sources such as Xrumer.

If you want to rank high like that then check out the following two services on WarriorForum (I'm not Affiliated), but they give you a BIG Advantage in dominating your keywords. Matter of fact I am 4th page now on a keyword that has 10,800,000 OPTIMIZED competition (WITH QUOTES).

    Service 1:
    HTML:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/196263-get-2000-10-000-backlinks-within-36-hours-real-deal-not-another-eguide-did-you-see.html
    Service 2:
    HTML:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-special-offers-forum/193669-up-10-000-backlinks-all-you-have-do-tell-us-where-you-want-them.html
Both services are made by highly reputable Members within the Warrior Forum.

    nufaman,

    What's wrong with that?

He asked how you get positions like that and I'm linking to two services on Warrior Forum that offer that since BlackHatWorld doesn't have those services.

I'm not Affiliated with either of those people, so why would it matter?

This is the world of Internet Marketing, not who's better and who's site is more trust able, etc. Debates between websites = Waste of time and NO MONEY.

There are plenty of Xrummer services here in BHW, don't see the need to promote that other shit forum

    nufaman,

Can you show me any trustworthy Xrumer services on BHW?

I've personally tried 3 of them, and they didn't work. One of the people offering the service turned out to be a scammer, and there was a huge thread on that.

I ONLY RECOMMEND services that I've personally tried that WORK!

According to whois the site is about 1.5 years old. That is not huge. The google cache which implies a content switch may be the more important clue as to what is happening.

seo20 has a wicked mind, maybe he can help brainstorm this one.

That is quite interesting, he must own xrumer or done a couple of blasts over the past 3-6 months. Timing is key, I've just gotta keep testing until I get the time frame down exactly. There's a system, and I'll figure it out! getting close :)

It is weird. I don't really thing some xrummer blast alone will get you where he is for that kw, especially to spread along on the local G listings.
Also, 1.5 years is not much so that it would be the wow factor in this site.

To me seems like a simple case of backlinks...

Maybe he's got some kind of inside info on the timing of the links, with regards to when the big G checks for them?
Also, it might be worth us having a look into what the previous site was all about, maybe that had something to do with the site gaining "REP" with G...and if thats the case, it wont be long and this site will no longer have these rankings...

If your site is aged, like one of mine is 9yrs old, it only takes a few backlinks to get it too where you want it. :p but not this one.

Hey guys thanks for the replies,

Digging deeper into their link structure there are two things that surprise me and that we have to take into account for the analysis.

1.- He has more .edu links that any other site on the top 10.
2.- page links to ase2009.com pass the overall links for the whole domain.
3.- one of the pages indexed in G using site: is literally ***.ase2009.com/bonus-types.html this is definitely my first time finding an indexed page like that.

I completely agree with jazzc it is not possible that just some xrumer blasts would catapult you to the 2nd/3rd slot for one of the most profitable keywords online. I'm definitely missing something here but will be doing more research into what exactly is getting this site to stick.

Domain age could not be a factor since most if not all of the sites ranking on the top 20 for that keyword are aged, keyworded domains. Might be that the relevant factor is that ase2009.com was not going to be sandboxed?

Besides that so far the link pattern is consistent with automated linking (xrumer, etc) the site is sharing a bunch of links with pills & viagra sites.

The website was previously hosting some good trustworthy content. Google approved big time and splashed (trust rank, or whatever you want to call it) all over it. At some point it got converted to a online casino, any xrumer links counted because of the trust Google had previously placed on the domain = no sandbox.

The domain now has the big G's nod, tens of thousands of links and is ranking/making money. Sooner or later it'll get pulled as an affiliate/low content site and get dropped.

Can't believe no one has registered ase2010.com yet...
