Well, I registered an .org domain when Namecheap gave me an .info domain for free (both with the same url).

So I decided to try an experiment - I blasted both money sites directly with all my same backlinking strategies (blog comments, profile links, web 2.0, .etc) and guess what? The .info domain ranked HIGHER than the .org!

    I was like WTF?
And yes, the .info's position has continued to stay at the first page.
    WTFism.

In conclusion: Google doesn't discriminate .info domains! Register them as normal.

I recently started using .info EMD's. Was a bit doubtful at the beginning but at 2,99/yr it was an experiment worth risking.

Three weeks into it and my EMD moved from 60th page to Page 3. Just did some wiki backlinking + web 2.0 properties.

So yes, no discrimination against .infos with google or for that matter bing/yahoo

90% of my domains are .net and the rest .com and .org, I never buy .info because I'm afraid that they will never rank.

I should try them I guess.

it is not about the domain, it is all about the content. Doesn't really matter what your domain is. I often see a domain like xxx.wordpress or xxx.blogspot.com comes first in search result.
