I live in a small city in the UK and have been selling used watches & watch parts on eBay (which count as jewellery) for the last 8 months, and the tax service knows about this. I had never had a request to view an item or sent an item to the city I live in until yesterday. In the last two day I have had two orders to be sent to the city I live in and two people wanting to view items.

One person was passing through and the other says he lives here and went to my business seller address which is a storage facility to view a watch I have for sale and couldn?t find me (because I?m never there). His story just doesn?t seem to ring true as the address made it clear it was a storage facility and surely you would contact someone first before going to view? I?m going to contact him and say he can?t view the watch as I don?t have the correct insurance.

It did cross my mind I may have done something to upset trading standards (I don?t know what) however I doubt they would have sent stuff to their staff?s houses and they could get my details easily with a warrant. Plus they must have better things to than go after me who sells less than five items a day?

I know I?m paranoid however what does everyone think is going on? Thanks.

Just block the wierdos and move on. I've had some truly insane people and at first I tried to be nice to them but I found out that it's much less hassle in the long run if you communicate to these weirdos as little as possible.
