Do we really need voice control in everything?

Reminds me of the Aaron Paul Xbox commercial where he was used connect to turn off his Xbox and everyone who had theirs on while the commercial came on had their Xbox turned off.

Yes, the Xbox is notorious about this too. There is a reference at the end of the article: "This is not the first time an ill-conceived TV spot has caused havoc with voice-control systems. In 2014, a Microsoft Xbox commercial featuring actor Aaron Paul demonstrating Kinect voice control was blamed for causing consoles across the US to spontaneously boot up and launch the game Titanfall every time the ad aired." :)

    This story is boring.

Think about this... In the future when Google and the world does go full retard and everything is 100% voice search. How will Google monetise that?

I'm pretty sure Google already has the action plan for that. But what could be the difference monetization-wise, if people keep using Google? Does it matter how the search term gets put into the search box? Or what do you mean exactly?

In the meantime they're (Google, MS, Apple, Amazon) building their databases from the voice commands and using their users voice for only god knows what.

I'm not sure, if i really want to live in a 100% voice controlled world though.

Marketers will try everything to make their blackhat backlinks hard to gain access to, but will openly talk into a mic and give up all their information.

Yes. Accidental order begets accidental order accidentally.

I spent 24 hours straight reverse engineering a program. About 6 am this morning I was pretty much done. Then I accidentally failed to set the right switches when saving the last time and foobarred all of the work. So, I got up and got a cup of coffee and started from scratch. About 8 am I went to bed and slept until about 1:30 pm. After a cup of coffee, I sat downn and did the work that I had lost and had about two hours into before I went to bed. Because of the accidental work I had done before, I finished reverse engineering by 3:45 pm. Accidents can be a blessing. A better blessing is when the cold freezes you hot water lines two days before and it starts running as you finish the reverse engineering above so that you can celebrate with a hot shower. The problem here is that when the water began running I had to chase it down the street, catch it, and bring it back. Accidental order begets accidental order accidentally.

This has been going on since the Echo was released. Jason Calacanis was on Leo Laport’s podcast a year ago when he started making Alexa commands to trigger all of the listener’s Echos to start doing random things. Apparently, a lot of people who listen to TWIT, also own Echos. Jason later started doing the same thing on his own podcast.

Probably going to be using it for some kind of 100% realistic Text To Speech project.
