Hey guys,

Just posted another "tip" on my blog. For those of you doing blackhat shit, you probably don't want everyone knowing who you are. Especially if your incentivizng stuff, some visitors are gonna be pissed off.

Instead of paying the premium for "privacy". Just make bogus accounts.

I go a bit more in depth on my blog:

How To HIDE Your Domain Info From Prying Eyes?

Pretty simple stuff but worth pointing out.

Kind Regards

-Dave King

Interesting, this would probably be best to only use on domains that you don't want to hold onto for a long time though, at least that's what I'd assume. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the info...for some reason when I register domains I typically feel the need to be a little honest with my info...luckily I have come accross a few cheap registrars that in most cases offer free private registrations.

Example ?? namecheap ? godaddy ?? wickid, can you name afew examples here ? thanks.

Are you sure that with BS info you would actually be able to hold on to your domain name if/when somebody complains?

I am asking because when I first started visiting BHW, CPU was going after somebody with BS info.

Before 1and1 started giving you free private registrations, I would always enter fake WHOIS info with no problems. I just used an email address that went straight to the trash if I had a contact email on the website. Whenever I would get emails from lawyers about trademarked domains, 1and1 would just forward them to my main account email. Anonymity is a precious thing online!

I doubt if you are really ever anon online. Somebody somewhere logged your IP address. They may not keep it for long, but it is logged.

No, they can track you down....it is easiest to follow the money trail than anything else. When I speak of anonymity, it is all relative. ;)
