Stolen e-book

Hi guys,

I was wondering if someon could give me any advice as to what to do in a situation where your product has been stolen an resold without permission.

What happened was pretty simple:

Someone bought one of my e-books and is now selling the exact thing on his website. To make the matter worse, the price that he offers is a lot cheaper than what I'm selling the product for. The guy is also bold enough to sell the exact copy of my PDF and hasn't even bothered to rewrite it so it still has my name written everywhere in the book.

The e-book includes a disclaimer section which clearly states that it doesn't come with any kind of PLR/MRR rights what so ever and that any kind of paid or free distribution of the product is prohibited.

I have emailed the owner of the domain (through whois guard), as well as the address associated with the Paypal account that the thief is using but haven't received any replies.

I would be very glad if anybody could point me in the right direction as to how to proceed.

contact legal lawyer from who is or from google collect his real details i m10000% sure u get it or ask ur any friend to try to become his customer and try to get his number email id etc !! send details to ur lawyer and fuck him with a legal notice ! did ur product have any legal terms page or papers etc provide all these to ur legal lawyer also ! and pls also share the product here so if someone gonna buy remember that fuckin** thief !

Lol dont give away your product here unless you think a lot of people here might actually buy from him. But basically like they said get some lawyers and contact the domain registration and hosting company that he has this website on stating that he has your copywrited material on there servers and legal action will be taken unless its removed.

Thanks for you suggestion. That's exactly what I planned to do - however, from what I know, copyright infringement cases are seldom taken pro bono and I'm kind of in between whether it is worth spending $1,000+ on a lawyer (more if it will go to court), given that the thief is most likely either an underaged kid or a lowlife and will never afford to repay the losses anyhow. Had it been a major product, I wouldn't doubt for a second - but what we're talking about is a $47 e-book that has a sales goal of 50-70 copies.

No, I won't do it before I ensure that it has been taken down from his site.
The only thing this would accomplish is free advertising for him - do you think there are many people who would pay me $47 for a product that they get for $15 from elsewhere?

Grab him where it hurts, and that is by his (golden-)nuts,the cahiers end: Paypal!

Paypal will freeze his account, when they come across he breaks copyright, right?

Send a DMCA notice to his website's host. That's the easiest way to get it taken down.
