    Hi fellow white hats,
I'm new to the forum and had a question.

What have you done individually when you discovered someone was using your content? I've seen a few leave a link at the end of the article like "original source here" or something like that but I don't think that's enough.

Should I ask them to pay for use, or what?
    Thanks

I've had similar problems. If the blogs are operated by Google, then DMCA them. Also mention that they do not have a vaild privacy policy (privacy polices are a rare thing with blogs). I find that the content (and sometime the blog) is often removed/closed down within 24-48 hours (week days).

If they have Adsense on the page, then use that to report them to Adsense for toS violations (again mention no valid privacy policy)

If they are on sites that are not operated by Google, then write to the site owner to remove them. Failing that, go to their hosting provider and ask for the legal department.

On a side note, have you tried Tineye to locate images? I do and it is pretty good. Google has one too, and does smaller images but only works on some browsers.

One other thing... create an email address as DMCA@example.com - They seem to take more notice of that kind of email address.
