I mean gosh dammit. What the heck. I am heavy into tech stocks like an idiot. Is this shit ever going to recover.

Someone needs to kick Yang and Ballmer in the sack.

Sorry had to vent..

Man - I feel for ya bro. I lost over $20k in 2000 when it crashed down and again about a year ago. I stopped playin' the tech stocks because I lost my arse.

This "shit" will recover, but gonna take some time (well, lots of time). Now's not a good time to own/buy stock. I had 5k in mutual funds in August, I'm too afraid to check it now. The way things are going I think I owe them money ;)

it will recover, it's just when... thats the tough question.

I feel your pain, my friend.

One of my elderly co-workers told us that this has happened a number of times in the past.

He stated to us to just hold tight, keep your money in and it will straightened itself out.

He described Wall Street as a "locomotive with a virus". "Once it gets over its sickness or cold, it will be stronger and mightier than ever!"

I hope he's right!

I havent even opened my 401K statements from the past 2 months.

Any predictions, one way or the other are pure speculation. We've never been in a financial situation/environment like we are today. Anyone that say they know how or when the market will go back up is either a fool or a liar.

lololol the monetary system is collapsing... lets all go storm the fed and create a moneyless society

The "tech" company i work for is laying of thousands of people :(

this is why i'm not trading forex atm. I trade with a lot of tried and tested technicals, but due to the volitility and current conditions, they just can't keep up.

Started to lose some serious money so i put everything on hold until atleast april next year.

Events like this are far too common these days though, so im beginning to doubt whether my plan of action is right!

Well as we all know. Twinkies are the only thing that can survive a nuclear holocaust. So i am going to invest all my money in twinkies. Why? Because the recession = armageddon. Everyones gonna nuke each other, and i will be sitting pretty with my load of twinkies.

If you hadnt noticed yet im being sarcastic. Yes i know im captain obvious but so many people do not see sarcasm.

For get tech stocks for now infact for get all stocks. Check this out from 2000-2008 if you were to buy 1000 bucks in beer then turn in the bottles at 5cents each you would have 320 bucks. If you put int 1000 into Wamu and sold in 2008 you woulda had 184, (there were others but the point is) Drink beer and screw stocks =)

I've always felt that the Internet needs a standardized "sarcasm" font. I hate when people dont get sarcasm online

I know i will get bashed for saying this, but Yahoo for $9 a share Microsoft for $18 a share. I know there is always risk, but I gotta think these are easy doubles within a few years.

lol there actually was a Family Guy episode about a nuclear holocaust. They didn't starve because they found a twinkie factory, and like everybody knows, twinkies are the only things that can survive a nuclear holocaust.

If i had any money to invest I would be buying right about now. I would invest a equal amount in all 30 Dow Jones industrial average companies. I believe this is the time to buy. The index is at 8000 and just a year ago it was at record highs of 14000. The way I see it we will break past that number in a few years. I mean what else do you guys think can happen? If all those companies go out of business I think there are bigger things to worry about than loosing money in the stock market. Plus you have to buy low and sell high

The old saying still applies IMHO: If you need ANY money within approx 5 years you should not have it in stock. Other than that, you'll probably be okay. If anything, now is the time to buy. But not in just one sector. Diversification, dollar cost averaging, these are all tried and true standbys. This blows no doubt about it but it'll come back.
