Still not understanding optimisation fully

Hello,

I'm creating a new site and want to avoid an over optimization penalty - It's happened once before and tanked the site.

I'm writing a "PRODUCT NAME review" article.

So for each HTML element here's what I have:

PRODUCT NAME review 2018

PRODUCT NAME reivew

The article is 770 words, with a KW density of 1.21% (6 mentions).

I've used http://www.webconfs.com/seo-tools/keyword-density-checker/ which removes stop words and then calculates KW Density.

I could add more content as I'd like to have my density below 1% but does my Title/URL/H1 elements hold more weight to a mention within text?

I've performed KW research and there isn't any other keywords apart from this review KW to use.

Thanks for your list - I made sure I followed your tips and I'm ranking in top 100 (98 according to Ahrefs) within 24 hours on a fresh domain!

Please stop using "keyword density" as a measure of onsite optimization, this hasn't be useful for many many years.

I've been told this before but I don't believe in it. I have two sites with 2k word on it, with a KW density of 5% (back when I knew nothing about SEO). Even after a year, one is ranked for 6 keywords and the other 11 in the top 100 - another LP I have which I ripped is ranked for 1.3k KW's and gets around 500 visitors a day. All 3 of these sites have no backlinks, and rely soley on design/onpage.

The site which is ranked for 1.3K KW is the most difficult niche - there are PBN's at play, but I'm not even in the top 100 which says it all for me IMO.

I appreciate your response, but I still believe it makes a difference from my own tests.
