Hey all,There is probably a lot of other people with the same problem I have and that is generating traffic. This year (2014) I want to really focus in on my weaknesses and that is -
    • link building
    • generating traffic
Everything else I am on top of and I've always been good at converting the small amount of traffic I get and have made ok money in the past(before googles algo changes). In 2012 I was making $500+ every week until googles first major update around Sep/Oct or when ever it was. That was from 100 visitors per day.I spent a lot of time building backlinks and content with this site plus others and then after a month or so they go down hill. Because of this I guess I've been to scared to work on building backlinks because I have no idea what works. Now I'm getting 5-10 visitors per day and that's with all my sites. I seem to get a trickle of visitors here and there but then nothing...Still I do make a sale here and there on clickbank and other affiliate networks plus I get clicks on adsense. All I need to do is bring in the traffic?4 years online has been one hell of a roller coaster for me with lots of ups and downs(mainly downs) but there is no way on earth I am going to give up!I'm really thinking about outsourcing link building but again I'm a little scared to because of what has happened in the past.Any tips for 2014?

If it's any help to you I would suggest investing some time in Pinterest, I have had some good traffic results with it, it is simple to use and connect your website links to your pics. Hope this helps....

Making great content isn't easy and that's the stuff what really stands the test of time. This is why a lot of people do fail because it takes hard work and a fair bit of dedication to that "one" website.

If your banking with black hat methods then they won't last long, scale up your efforts so one lost site is far less % of your overall profits.

    OP my advice to you:

Just start blackmailing SEO/linkbuilding with any other source of income. It would straight your SEO path to some extent.

I was having a similar issue, link building and social media seem to work well depending on the niche.

For my opinion, I still use backlink from link building by unique content.
