Staying on the first page

I got one of my blog posts to the first page of a google search for a keyword that I targeted. It was there for two days, then it disappeared from the first page. How do I keep it at that first page spot? (Sorry, this is my second thread, but I figured this would require more White Hat techniques, so I posted here).

But why is it sandboxed ? Any specific reason..

Sometimes, the results just get shaken up and there is nothing you can do about it. What normally happens is a new post comes out on top then disappears for a few days or a week while G figures out what it's true rank should be.

Use this time to continue building your backlinks & try not to worry. It will come back.

Yep. Totally normal. I have made a handful of sites that all appeared on page 1 for a few days and then disappear and then come back and then move around. It freaked me out the first time my first site disappeared. Thought I was banned LOL! But yeah, totally to be expected. Keep building backlinks and relative content so when it comes back the ranking will stick.

Register for as many social sites as you can and post links pointing back to your post on your blog. There are plenty of lists on this forum of social sites that will give you link juice.

Make a Squidoo lens (Google loves them) around the same subject and point it back to your blog post.

Post some articles on article directories and use anchor text to point them back to some part of your blog post.

These are all basic whitehat methods that work extremely well.

And don't forget to ping that particular page of your blog.
Use the tool introduced on this site. Its very easy to use.

I am not going to submit to social sites for now.. Will wait for it to get naturally indexed..is submitting required when your site is sandboxed ? Overall my 3 sites were sandboxed.. one was sandboxed for 4 days... other for 20 days (Was shocked ) and this new one for .. (No idea)..

Bounce Rate and Average Time on Site!

What does Google want to do? They want to return the most relevant results for whatever a user searches for. The longer someone stays on your page, the deeper into your site they go then the more likely Google gave them the correct answer.

So when your on the first page and have a high bounce rate and low average time on page/site, Google knows the results it gave on the first page were not answering the users question/query, and pure speculation but I think your site gets devalued quickly and will lose its front page status.

Wanna get out of the sandbox? Grow up and be a big boy site that works for whatever it is your claiming your site provides. My newest site I'm promoting offline is less than a week old and already comes up Top 10 for some local searches, and I live in on of the largest Metro's in the US.

And yea link building.

Get it naturally indexed? The way to get it indexed 'naturally' is to let Google know the site's importance. Goog determines this by the quantity and quality of backlinks you have to your site. Your rankings and also the % of pages on your site that google keeps in your index depends largely on that factor.

I would suggest continuously submitting your site to social networks, you will get backlinks from people linking to your blog posts. Just continue to write and increase your indexed pages and backlinks and you will be fine. It takes a minimum of 3 months for Google to really trust any new site.
