Stay away from EMD ??

Hey all, i know this has probobly been asked a billion times but things move quick in the world of SEO. So i have found an EMD in a very specific niche. Should i register and use it?

Sorry to ask such an age old question.....

Check it before registering and make sure it was not spammed in past. Personally, I have switched from EMD domains to brandable domains and will never start using EMD again.

I agree. Brandable > Exact match

I'm not an SEO guy though so if that's what you want to accomplish don't listen to me.

Is the EMD a useful term that also sounds good? Is it something like woodphonecases.com rather than replacementpartsformicrosoftmice.com for instance? An EMD does indeed hold some value... BUT so little that a better name that brands better and "sells" an image is better. So only grab the EMD if it sounds good... OR if the EMD is going to be used as a T1 authority site or something other than a true money site.

The domain is more like woodphonecases.com rather than replacementpartsformicrosoftmice.com . Its a small 2 word domain that is the exact niche i am looking to get into.

Check to see if you can build a social profile using the name. If so, snag it

Grab it, especially if it's a .COM. But check the history and backlink profile first.

I would definitely build a quick site around it to test and may be flip it later.
