Anyone have an opinion on this? I'm working for a company and building backlinks from blogs and articles with the links of the brand name pointing to articles and pages about the brand.

I've stayed away from cheap links to avoid getting any of the pages penalized but this strategy is a bit more expensive.

do you think getting blackhat links to gust, yellowpages, weebly and wordpress sites could get them deranked for the brand name, or could doing lower cost links do the trick? What do you think?

    Thanks!

If your dealing w clients its never worth it to risk... at some time down the line it will become a problem almost surely.

Build up the social profiles as they can rank well too. Otherwise keep pushing good articles about the brand etc. toward the top with more good content links. This is the only way for now, basically we are forced into white-hat methods lol
