Hi there, i was trying to post this thread in Joint ventures section bu the system is not allowing saying that i vahe no permissions and so on ... anyway , i´ll post it here and if anybody want´s to move it to the right section or delete it ... fell free to do it but it will mean the lost of a real oportunity.

So let´s move on to what matters...

Statistics, data and projections of Internet in Brazil

    Last update: 08/11/2011.

    Number of users

According to the F / Nazca, thera are 81.3 million Internet users in Brazil. As for Ibope / Nielsen, we are 78 million ( September/2011). According to Fecomércio-RJ/Ipsos, the percentage of Brazilians connected to the Internet increased from 27% to 48% between 2007 and 2011. Nowadays Brazil is the 5th country with the largest number of Internet connections.

    Active internet users

46.3 million users regularly access the Internet. According to Alexandre Sanches Magalhães, manager analysis from Ibope/NetRatings, "the rate of growth of the Internet in Brazil is intense". The entrance from Class C to the club of the Internet must be able to maintain the same strong rate of increase in the number of residential users".

    Average time spent

Since this metric was created, Brazil has always got excellent marks, being constantly in world leadership. In July 2009, the time was 48 hours and 26 minutes, considering only the site navigation. The time goes up to 71h30m if we consider the use of online applications (MSN, Emule, Torrent, Skype etc.). The last mark was measured 69 hours per person in July 2011.

    Ecommerce

In 2008, spending USD 4.9 billion in online shopping. In 2009, even with the crisis, spent USD 6 billion. 2010 closed with USD 8,7 billion, reaching 1 / 3 of all retail sales made in Brazil. Still, only 20% of Brazilian Internet users make purchases on the Internet, those who still do not buy, do not by not considering the safe operation (69%) or because they don´t rely on product quality (26%).

    Online Advertising

The internet has become the third largest marketing vehicle in Brazil, losing only to radio and TV. 87% of Internet users use the Internet to research products and services before they buy it, 90% of consumers listen to suggestions from people they know, while 70% rely on opinions expressed online.

    AND WHAT`S THE DEAL ..?? :D

If anybody is interested in entering to the brazilian market we can arrange a joint venture. Initially i´m interested in Adsense and CPA sites that i could easily translate, buy the [.]com.br domain, make some local link building and so on.

Basicaly, if you have a good adsense site i would make a version of it in perfect and readable Brazilian Portuguese with a Brazilian domain and work on SEO dedicated to local market.

    Regards from Brazil ...

Hi, that post was really interesting, thank you! I am a student doing research on Brazilian internet usage by social class, and would love to find the research reports you drew those statistics from. It is hard for me to find them because I don't speak Portuguese. Could you either link me to where you found them, attach them to the post, or email them to me - peneraser at gmail? It would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Same here.

I've always thought about doing IM in either China, India, or Brazil since the markets are smaller than US/UK (small market = less competition). I'd imagine having an eCommerce store (that sells products popular among Brazilians) would net some nice profits.
