I need some advice.

I have a small niche site that I have been working on for the past 2 years.

I am starting to run out of keywords to target as it is a very narrow niche and I am thinking of expanding into a more broader kws.

Lets say for example I am in the dog niche and have a site dedicated to one breed of dog (the breed is even in its domain name)

What do you think would be the best way to target other dog breeds or just dogs in general?

A seperate blog for all things dog related?

Make a whole new site from scratch?

Thanks in advance guys

I would start a new site, particularly if the niche is in the domain name. When people visit a niche site, that is the particular content they want to see. If they've come to find out info on poodles, they don't want to see the site full of pages about rottweilers and pit bulls.

You can obviously then link from the niche site to new site and vice versa.

Yeah, I thought as much.

I have been toying with the idea of doing a general site around my niche for a while now.

Just didnt fancy starting from scratch as my smaller niche site has some pretty decent authority that I could have piggy backed on.

On the bright side, I have made a good number of contacts in my niche already, so I should find outreach a little easier this time :)
