    Hey guys,

Lets say you have an idea for a channel and you are pretty sure that it could become popular. You can make great videos but if you dont have initial traffic/subscribers, your videos will never go viral/or get shared.

Would it be safe to use Blackhat techniques (Buy Views for example) to get the traffic rolling to your channel at first? After the initial boost, if the content is great, you will get legit subscribers and the blackhat techniques wont be needed anymore.

Can you get in trouble (getting your account closed, etc..) for paying for views?

I am from the SEO world and Youtube seems an interesting venture.

    Cheers!

You really answered your own question. BH to get your videos ranked well and receiving organic traffic. Buying subs to induce more casual viewers to subscribe.

Where is the downside, even if you channel gets taken down during build stage.

What if the channel get popular and a few months after Youtube found out that BH techniques were used at first? The channel will be lost and the brand gone.

The question really is: Do YT closes account when they found out about BH techniques being used?

Should I consider using BH techniques when starting off a "Whitehat" channel or should I avoid BH completely?

As long as you have the right tags and a very good viral idea then it will get shared. Not as fast as using BH techniques, but through organic youtube search traffic.

Just like in SEO, I will never use a BH technique on my main channel. I would upload videos to hundreds of accounts and have the descriptions point to my main channel (Sort of like backlinks and doorway pages).

This is ofcourse my personal opinion and what I have tested that works for me. The others may have a different idea.

Yes. But I'll let others answer this as I am not much experienced in views. But I know for a fact that this is NOT THE ONLY way to jumpstart your videos.

I don't know of any Google- Panda-like update to youtube that penalizes you for used BH methods. But since they're owned by Goggle, I don't see why they will not implement this in the near future.

It's better to be safe & keep your main channel whitehat.

    Definitely a yes.

I would say do both. In SEO terms- You know How a Money site is linked to web2.0 sites and bunch of blog backlinks to those web2.0 sites? I do something like that in YouTube. You understand that I won;t completely give away my method here, but it is somewhere along the lines of:

Main YT Channel <- BH YT Accounts
    <- BH YT Videos

Main YT Videos <- BH YT Videos

    --

This is ofcourse entirely different from using YT to sell CPA products. There are better methods for that.. I would not recommend any SEO styles if you're going in that direction because it'll have the tendency to overthink methods.

What I have discussed above is just A method of making your Main channel popular, say you're a musician doing cover songs, a comedian, etc. etc..

I say you start low, if the videos are unique and likable just post them to different sites with videos. Once you get decent amount of viewers you can buy more so it doesnt look suspicious.

From what I've seen, it's very unlikely they'll do anything to your channel if they don't catch you in 1-2 weeks after you've increased your views "illegally".

Besides, if they do catch you, the worst thing I've seen happening is removing the specific video and not the entire channel. Hell, TheAngryGrandpaShow channel is still there and monetizing after totally raping the YT system with dozens and dozens of millions fake views

Although, to be fair, the owner was pretty smart claiming his innocence on the official forums before anyone started investigating.

A lil' rep is appreciated if this helps in any way. :)

If you plan to purchasing traffic be very careful, there are many different types. Some of which will get your account banned.
