2 Years ago I started a journey of learning code to the bones. I quitted job giving services to big companies and I made my savings and other business to keep afloat my family. (I have a kid and wife). So it was kinda hard doing that. But after 2 and half years of intensive code learning I think I am ready to give that jump and design many SaaS tools, one by one giving monthly updates and such.
I started working with .NET but its kinda painful doing some stuff there, it gets buggy. I prefer working with Python or PHP.

In this journey I will be focused on talking about well.. That word called "success" which is very odd.
I was doing before this 2/half intense years about $5,000 USD monthly giving services to companies and $3,500 USD monthly with andsense on nice niche. Then I got banned on Adsense for buying crappy traffic from a selling in BHW. TWICE. So well.. Adsense was not a very stable business. So then I saw all the services I used on my campaigns, I loved stuff like Hootsuite, Social Oomph, Etc.
    t,
Ive been doing some custom jobs lately and Ive earned my way to also buy a 3D Printer with its filament extruder, arduino kits and stuff. I am ready to code hardware and software.
My main focus? Logistics and Internet Marketing.

I got this 2 projects (other apart buts its like activism) Marketing Mall and Inventag a point of sale with algorithms I planned since I was studying in college International Logistics. So I thought studying that would complete my love with computers.
Productivity at its best. Marketing and Logistics Kaizen.
Well I have many more things to share eventually.. So I saw the movie "Lucy" yesterday and a big though came to my mind about sharing knowledge.
If there is coders wanting to start on its SaaS business journey, lets keep in touch here and on Skype Group maybe.

    So lets start the journey.

I have to update that Ive been into PHP Framework. Studying different ways of creating a good multi-tenant application.
In the meantime Ive been working on new algorithms for Marketing Mall software. This is working under .NET framework 4.5 which checks online for licensing.
Ive been specially creating tools that I want to use and I know several people want to use too. Then when I launch I will get many feedback from this clients that will help me create a way better product.

I went to a convention about the Internet of Things and Cloud Computing at Santa Clara, CA (Silicon Valley).
I was amazed to find that several ideas that I had on mind are currently under research. I think I am at good pace about this.
Ive been working so much on dependencies for a nice SaaS application,
For everyone following this thread I got a very good read for you:
    http://12factor.net/
These are the 12 factors that many people organized when developing a succesful SaaS application.

Seems interesting, will definitely follow your progress!
Im in the same route on learning how to code.
May i ask on some input on what language you started out with and got any tips on increasing the learning curve?

Hey guys, I will of course contact you back to create a group and discuss more about this.

I made a quite progress lately. I managed to sale licenses for a software I have a BST here and got profit for working on many more upgrades eventually. It has worked for the last year which made me to invest more time on ideas for marketing tools.
Eventually, No one can work as an octopus and everything starts from the beginning, where everyone struggles. But thanks to the internet, the information is more opened in every way.

I learned about the great good PaaS, the question now would be kind of difficult. Im not sure if I can mention PaaS companies on the forum, but I will try a couple of them.
I also made a JV for Linkedin Marketer with a very great guy from Germany, he has taught me a lot on the way of organizing ideas intro projects and start executing.
Like the great Henry Ford said:
[h=1]"Vision without execution is just hallucination."[/h]

I started with PHP, and still am, also Ive been studying lots of Javascript, Specially the libraries called JQuery and Laravel.

If you want to learn faster you gotta work on projects. Doing, doing and doing. No more, thats the tip, dont just listen to video tutorials on Tutsplus, TeamTreeHouse, Lynda, etc.
Do it along, have a vision, code what you always wanted to code.

Well, Ive been very into the design of strategies with a win-win zen. This is about lots of maths (which I was not good at highschool and college, and now I dont know why I like them, maybe because I understand the full use of many of its concepts.) and I think I got the key of holding onto a safe idea of private limited networks on many generations for different marketing tools.
With this segment I will support my SaaS projects which need a pretty good optimization on server side coding, so we can save many resources from Elastic Cloud.

Ive found a special thought about coding, there is a common say on it, "dont repeat yourself", and thats the key. The less code you take is the best app.
I also have learned the bad way something, the most difficult problems, most of the time have very simple solutions. Its a matter of constant practice and developing more experience. That will truly generate more synapse between your brain somehow that it will open your eyes to many many unlimited ideas that you can generate cash on them, and also help other people.

Well, I will continue learning Node.js on tree house and tutsplus.
    Will update later.

When I was in highschool I played with AIML. A kind of XML for giving chatbots personality.
Its all about the tags and PATTERNS. Ive been thinking on working on virtual assistants for wordpress plugins, drupal, and a Javascript code that connects and pass intelligence of conversations between real conversations storing them into the database.
Well, in the meantime Ive been working hard on new updates for the Desktop PC apps for automating Social Networks with strategy.
Im not a competitor from many people that have products here, since Im just interested on focusing on enterpreneurs with passion to make their business grow, and thats all. Satisfying their needs to make them grow and learning on the curve.

If anyone is interested on kinda doing a JV, Im open for a conversation. Win-Win is the important think. Kaizen mentality is greatly appreciated.

interesting seeing some "real" business here. How far is your SaaS and what is your SaaS? How do you get clients and how do you get the word out there?

also, Laravel is a PHP framework, not a JS library :)

Nice. I am also thinking about creating Saas product, so more than happy to see your progress. Good luck!

Of course its a Framework, I never said it was a JS library :) Maybe I didnt use a proper comma on the context.
My SaaS its about automating logistics from small business to big business.
Im doing some interesting formulas and workers to make this a magical product. Stay tunned.

Ive been lately into NodeJS and ExpressJS. Mainly to use it in a Raspberry Pi and Arduino. Im waiting for the Arduberry.
Its a long, long journey full of learning curves on computer science.
I watched this and I totally feel like that (allegorically of course) http://9gag.com/gag/aYp2mo2

Its totally like that when you encounter frameworks incompatibilities. Database issues, Load balancing problems.
The good thing is that the DevOp generation is starting. PaaS will change the frontiers.

I am also planning an algorithm for a private community where I offer solutions.
I will accept only 100 at the beginning. There are already 6 that have jumped into the train. so that makes 94 left. I dont even have the proper writing landing page for that but people seems interested.
I will keep pushing onto that because I dont want any issue with ToS, and all that legal stuff that really sucks.
For doing a great software, I think everything evolves eventually. And it takes time to gather a perfect SaaS app.
Software like scrapers, actioners and so are easy into executable Desktop apps. But doing a good Cloud software, I think the biggest companies started without nothing and never gave up into evolving. Usually people want fast money and dont focus on learning computer science.

    Wanna hear a funny think?
I was rejected from Hack Reactor Bootcamp because I needed to practice more Javascript.
Ohh, they will see. Studying while doing apps to sell. Thats the point, since I have a family that depends on me.

Its a very long journey. Step by step.

Been learning a lot lately reading from blogs and taking courses from tutsplus and codeschool.
Its a good journey to enforce the basics about programming. Working on all the API on NodeJS to start migration from Ubot/C# to NodeJS and to compile to multiple platforms.
This is my compromise to all the founders. I will be improving durable and rock solid software for social media marketing.
Been studying how to build up API's and developing along in laravel. MVC makes it more ordered.
Whats on my list right now?
Master ExpressJS and integrate a boilerplate so I make sub apps in different servers/domains in order that bundle can have access to each of them.
The business idea will come around.

Ive almost finished this new Beta phase, I just worked on a route called stores, there is 2 routes left, suppliers and transports.
    It will get everything together.
The strategy is offering free accounts to everybody but limit them with only 25 products and 1 store.
I am going to add a global model so stores, transports and suppliers can use it for Email Marketing to their customers. I will also limit this number.
For the mailing platform I will use Mandrill service.

Right now I made an offer on the Jr. VIP forum since I am looking for testers. Ive got 2 important testers with more than 5 stores each, so I will finally make tests to see how it works with many stores.

I will soon publish the public domain so everybody can register for free and try it.

I decided to stop a little bit about SaaS business model since Node.js was consuming too much time. Also I cannot display browser unless I use a Selenium or ChromeDriver.
The point is that I will continue with the marketing tools and will update them with .NET framework. The next year I will migrate to Node and cloud business model instead of licenses.
I will stick with the licenses model and inform you.
I started another journey for Growth Hacking organically.
