I come from a developer background so this area is a bit new. I'm in the process of building my first Amazon Affiliate site and have a few questions. I'm targeting a niche group of products and I don't mind doing all the manual work of hand crafting descriptions, saving the image from the amazon link, and making each post and putting in the right category. I wrote a few pages on the site (about, contact, amazon affiliate disclaimer) but the site is basically a http://www.shutupandtakemyyen.com/ type site and the main page is just an assortment of hand picked listings. So how do I get approved? I've made some mock posts like the shutup site but with a normal amazon link instead of an AA link. I have about 4 up right now. I'm not looking for a plugin to automatically insert a bunch of "similar content" as I want to individually add each product. I did read through the megaposts and I'm not looking for advice on ranking or anything like that but do have some specific questions to get started. 1. What else would I need to do to get approved and swap the link for AA link and start using them? 2. Can/should I use my personal amazon account (that I use regularly to purchase things) to make my affiliate account? Looks like you need to use real information for tax purposes. 3. What happens if I get rejected? How long until I can reapply? 4. How do you handle price fluctuations? 5. Anything else I should know? I'm not doing this as a get rich quick scheme, I'm interested in building this little site and working on it for myself and a few friends that wanted it. So even moderate success would be exciting as this is a side project.
