I'm thinking of investing in creating a deal of the day type site. What is the best way to get inventory for that type of site? I'm thinking that I'd want drop-shippers so that I don't have to handle any physical inventory myself. Getting the web site created, etc is no problem since I know people... but I'm still wondering what I should actually sell lol.

Honestly, if you plan to create a "special deals" website and only plan to dropship, don't expect to make much money. The thing with dropshipping is that people think they will make lots of money doing barely no work..

I used to dropship for some people, but got tired of it because people think they will get wholesale prices without buying wholesale. Dropshipping is less work for people like you, but its also more work for people like me and my employees, so of course dropshippers cannot give as good prices as they can to big B2B customers.

I think dropshipping only really is profitable on big expensive items.. I do have some suggestions though I don't want to give them out publicly for obvious reasons. If you want PM me, and I can even hook you up with a friend who may (or may not.. idk) be interested but who definitely has all the contacts needed for a nice dropshipping business.

That sounds fair. Frankly I'm not as concerned with profit margins as I am ease and reliability at this point. I have everything else needed for a DOD type site available to me, and as long as it is consistant turn-key profit I don't mind it not being HUGE just as long as it is worth my while still.

Go to the sites that list drop shippers for people, use advertising on the sites. Contact all the wholesalers, and tell them that your starting up a site, blah blah, loads of traffic, blah blah, huge social media campaign, blah blah.

You want to "include" their particular product on a special day, and in return they get a backlink, and featured.

Setup a payment gateway to forward them the payment, then bill them after for sales. You obviously capture the customer data too.

    Adjust these ideas as required.

Are the drop shippers listed on wholesaleforum.com trust worthy? Do the folks on that forum really know what they're saying or are there a lot of scammers?

    Thx mate

Just ask them for the contact details for a couple of their buyers, tell them your plight.
