My dream for the past year is to start a tube site. I've picked out the script (Kernel Video Sharing) and may have found a good host for a dedicated server. I'm not new to web development, I've built dozens of Wordpress sites in the past and I know my way around cPanel. However, I've mostly done frontend development on shared hosting. Getting a dedicated server and setting up a tube site is totally new to me. I also don't have very much backend development experience. After this, I hope that I'll be "promoted" to being a full stack developer. I was wondering if I would be in over my head if I tried to set something up today? To my understanding, KVS is willing to prepare the server for a fee and then deploy their script for free. After that is said and done, how much backend work would I need to do to get things running smooth? I have no problem setting up and using an IDS and whatnot, but otherwise its all pretty new to me. I'm hoping this will be a learning experience, maybe even a profitable one at that. If anyone could point me in the direction for my knowledge on the task at hand I would be very appreciative. Also, I realize that a tube site probably isn't going to be the most profitable venture in todays age, but thats ok. I don't mind breaking even, setting up the site itself and starting a community is my primary goal along with the knowledge and experience.
