Hi Everyone, as a quick background. By nature I have created restaurants and worked in restaurants for the last 14 yrs. I've done everything from consulting to owning. I started actually gaming a few years back and found that there is a never ending growth to the industry and unlimited niches. I created a new site that deals with gaming and also how to make money gaming. This is a first post I made as a spoiler to our upcoming Youtube Money Making Series. Can you give me some insight to what you think.

In short, Yes. Making money in a video game is no like any other self started business. I'm not here to tell you this will be easy, it won't take time, and it won't take a lot of work to perfect. I am here to let you know that you can do it if you love what you do and you.
    Today's First Step: Foundation

I believe that there are only 5 True Key Steps to building a perfect foundation for your new business:

    1) What / Who is your niche - what is the game (s) you play and what do you want from the game that others would want from it as well? If it is guides, funny commentary, or gamer love connection, it doesn't truly matter because it is what you are passionate about.

    2) What is Your Voice to the people - Everyone in this world has a voice (opinion) and a want to be heard by others. Anyone can build a product to sell but only a select few can take a voice / perspective and create a following. What is your voice? What will its purpose be? How will it draw in loyal followers?

    3) Google Alerts and Social Sharing - When creating a new foundation, you need to understand that it is very hard to do it alone. Over the years of Facebook, Twitter, Vine etc that you have been on and used these companies, You have created an army of helpers! Use those resources and reach out to see if any are willing to help. If you have people as friends that have similar taste as you (most do), then you will see people willing to help create an amazing product.

Google Alerts: This is a tool published by Google. This tool allows you to insert keywords that Google will search and look up for you. It will find new articles that are related to that keyword. All you have to do is create a list of those places, set up accounts and post. When you post, insert an anchor link back to your original site to boost your traffic with ease and free!

    4) What are you Selling- Every business needs something to be sold. Like most in the gaming world.. you don't have a product to sell that is physical. You do have traffic and virtual goods such as guide, Clan Traffic, possibly t-shirts from the game you play. You need to set a detailed list of what you want to sell and what you have to sell.

    5) Keep Positive and Attract Positive! - In all things that you do in life there is a certain law of attraction. If you think positive and keep positive about what you love to do, you will attract it. This is one of the hardest things to do for any business owner. There are many hurdles everyone faces along the way but seeing that it is a challenge because you have a strong idea is a way to keep positive. If you had a poor idea.. you would have far less challenges and most likely fail. Think about what you want, what your goals are and feel it and create it.

Mind you this is an overall general point of view. Newbez is creating a very detail series to help you make money! If time is money and we put time into our gaming.. WHY NOT MAKE MONEY??

Thank you for any feedback you all give.

Well, do you actually make money out of this method?
Or are you just another guy who tries to make money by selling "methods" to make money?

That's true, but I don't see the method here. I only see your point of view. So, nice words mate

I couldn't see any substance really in what you wrote. Even knowing nothing about gaming I got to the end feeling I learnt nothing - and nothing that would make me want to see what else you had to say.

Now you also mentioned doing all sorts of stuff to do with restaurants. So you've probably got something you can REALLY offer in that area.

If you can help restaurant owners make more money, and do it in a way you can scale, then that looks to me like having big potential. There are restaurant owners everywhere. Looks to me that's a great area you could exploit - how to make more money from your restaurant.

Bill Glazer started with marketing his clothing store if I remember right. How unsexy is that?

I wonder if you're going with what looks sexy (gaming) instead of the area where you can offer real value. And I bet you can find a few niches you can exploit there for some real money.

that makes sense nick but overall I do have a passion for gaming and its people. I might in the future create a consulting website / firm for restaurants but I would love to tap into gaming more. I see value in a gamers voice in the sense of marketing it to the game companies themselves.

I agree that the wording needs to be stronger in that article. I wanted to include it in a video series I want to do with gamers and how they can monetize their gaming sites / clans.

Thanks for your input and insight! Has helped a lot
