I started my first autoblog. I am not sure if it was a good Idea to have a multi topic autoblog, but I'm going to give it a try. I have CC for content, and I have gotten indexed in google. Now I have to figure out the best way to get traffic. I have done some comment post with kahuna comment, but it is taking forever.

SO are there any secrets to getting crazy traffic?

I need to find a way to make about 50.00 a day. :(

    thanks for any help.

    :)

I think Harro posted 2 threads that might be helpful. One is on getting backlinks and the other is on getting traffic.

Generally, getting bread and butter traffic to an autoblog is pretty much the same as with any other website, I guess. There may be BH ways to do it too ;) but perhaps it is important to know the WH methods first.

Oh, and some of the threads on autoblogs or autoblogging might have posts by members on their special methods of getting traffic.

    All The Best :)
P.S. In the download's section, there are some PDFs and guides on traffic generation too.
Suggestion if you're overwhelmed with methods and ideas:
    1) Select 2 or 3 methods
    2) Work on them only and do some tracking and testing on the traffic generated
    3) Tweak to improve and once you get a decent stream of traffic coming in, then add more methods.

There are some interesting guidelines in "autoblogs on cracks", you should read the whole thread, it explains ways to get more traffics.

    Hope it helps ;)

:) I'm not really sure what you mean by multi topic autoblog.

Wouldn't you normally use a small group of keywords all related to the same niche ? So for example, you might have a blog that talks about:
    hair removal lotion
    hair removal cream
    hair removal laser
    hair removal methods
    permanent hair removal

Would this be considered multi-topic and were you suggesting to just focus on say 1 keyword only?

Perhaps the keyword research and getting targeted traffic to the blog are some of the key steps that can enhance success (profits)? ;) :p :)

    Cheerio :)

Yeah I am starting to see that I should have done as gifmore said.

Instead I did more like and about *com style blog.

Well I guess it will be good practice.

Maybe I can promote it by bookmarking and pinging each category.

:) Heh, when you say it like that, I can picture the multi-topic blog a little differently.

So say you have a multi-topic blog that is on beauty and then you have posts, pages, categories and tags related to all things beauty (e.g. hair removal, skin care, weight loss, make up and cosmetics, spas, manicures and pedicures etc. etc. .. etc. and yada yada yada).

Then perhaps the respective sections or pages or from this multi-topic blog can then point to a product sales website? Is this what you meant ? :)

    Cheerio :)

    Here is what I meant...

    Code:
    http://www.thedailyblog.info/
this is one google deindexed because I built the links too fast but it shows what I mean by multi-topics

It doesn`t really matter about multitopics in a blog. If u want to monetize by using adsense or adbrite etc..than it should not be a problem. But to sell a product than i suppose u need to be specific about the topics. But for autoblogging, in my opinion the best way to get backlinks is through commenting on other blogs or spamming them... . And occasionally try to submit bookmarks to high PR sites like reddit or digg.

Ah..okie.. you're using this multiblog to give you backlink juice to your money blog, i guess.

It makes sense, but perhaps it might "power up" your backlink juice if you had 1 blog per market niche and each blog will have content related to what your money site is promoting (e.g. 1 blog talks about fitness and has a link to your money website selling fitness products, another blog has content on divorce and relationships, which links to a money site).

But of course, it depends how you want your autoblog to "serve" your market :) i.e. whether as a content aggregate website, or a link "directory" which sends your visitors to a solution to their problem ;)

    Cheerio :)

think outside the box when considering the possibilities.....map out your plan then ask yourself if it makes sense. You'll be surprised at the number of uses...one thing I can do is get any page indexed within couple hours....you can do that when your site gets spidered 3 or 4 hundred times a day.

Everybody is inside the box....the money is outside the box.

is 10,000 visitors for 5 dollars and 100,000 visitors for 20 dollars a good price?
