    Hey guys,

I think it is the silliest thread I've ever opened :amish:

The question is : How to get some start-up cash ? I've ran out of all my money, f*ck university bills :)

I am planing to go with fiverr but first I need at least $5-10 to buy my own gigs, in another case, they won't be rated = no one will buy :)

I tried postloop but they rejected me because of my grammar, I don't really know why, I was very careful with my words.

I did not want to open up a thread like this, but maybe you know some network like postloop, company that pays for unique content (I've searched, but they usually pay after 1 week or so), I tried to work as a content writer, but it's kinda hard to get costumers :)

The sad and ironic fact is that I need to get $5-10 to my paypal and I can't! Sometimes life is so cruel :-(

Know all the nice things you have that you don't use?

Let me introduce you to my friend, Asset Liquidation.

I sold old sports gear, video games, computer parts, text books, hobby sports stuff (paintball/MX parts/snowboard).

I even sold clothes I still had the tags on.

Started by writing articles for other people and very, very, very light affiliate work since I couldn't afford domains/hosting/proxies yet.

I didn't leverage at all; didn't take any debt (though maybe I should have...).

I melted a lot of my goods, a lot of my possessions, but you know what? - I bought better versions of them back when my business got off the ground (car instead of bike tho. too cold now)

Thank you for your kind words LakeForest, am I able to sell something online? For example e-book, or that is organic auction only? Since I don't live in USA, I can't afford it, right?

Hey, don't put yourself down because you're not in the US.

Depending where you are, you can find legitimate products dirt cheap and sell those on ebay for a very nice margin.

I sold my stuff on topic related forums, on ebay, and craigslist. Those were basically the 3 options I had. Now there are so many places to sell your things.

Remember that you can only sell so much of your clutter before the income stops. Then what? Try to market any skill you have right now and sell them on forums (it costs money to advertise on BHW though). Can you write, do keyword research, design logos or site templates?

If you have an ebook to sell, go sell that! Is there any way you can get even $100 USD start up? This will help a lot because you can buy a year of hosting, a domain for a site to sell your ebook, and some advertising.

Take a look in the Money Making section for a while and try to see what calls to you. If you have a skill, try to partner up with someone in the Joint Venture section.

Seriously: The economy is all over the world, not just the US. There are opportunities everywhere. My father is trying SO INCREDIBLY &@%!&#@ MUCH to make me move to Indonesia or India or closer to Taiwan/Japan to capitalize on their growth and invest. The US needs the world more than ever right now, so go take advantage of that.

lakim - don't give up on fiverr, post a few gigs and then re-write them, so you have 20 gigs in total (this is what you are allowed per account). You might not get orders right away, but sooner or later you will start getting some (as long as you are offering something that people are searching for). There is a clearing period, so you won't get money right away, but with time you can make good amount of $$$ and finance your other IM projects.

    Good luck!

I did the same exact thing as LakeForest when I started IM. I didn't make any money, couldn't afford the bills...so I sold anything I could to make ends meet. If your ends are already met, try selling valuables if you'd like to invest.

Thanks for your kind words again :) I do have knowledge in IM, I know a lot, there were days when $100-200 was not considered a great income, can you believe that?

But the fact is that I sold everything to pay the bills, now I have to start everything from 0, that's it, fiverr is the best opportunity, I think I can get 10-20 sales per day, that's good money :)

It's always difficult to start a business without some start-up cash, again : Thanks everyone, I'll do my best :willy:

If you want startup money, come up with a solid idea, and look for investors. I heard of some kid the other day writing for 6-7 bucks an article.
Ill find you the link and post it here.

You can always check craigslist gigs section for people that need help moving or whatever. thats startup cash.

If you can sell just one item, begin to do it today. Use eBay, or anything that can help you make that sale.

Go out to locals and sell them a website. Before that, just do the research first and create a portfolio. (Doesn't have to be your own, for example, talk to sellers here and ask them their permission to make a presentation of their services to your potential local clients), then when you get your first client, come back to the member and hire him.

If you have a laptop or a smartphone with a net connection, it will help in presenting your services.

Of course make some decent commission. Be polite, be professional, and yes, keep yourself 1000 miles away from the evil thoughts of making a fast buck without actually delivering... :)

That first honestly earned Dollar will make highways for more to come to you...

This has come off the top.. may be you can get better commercial ideas!

I'm not really sure where you are from, but I am in Texas, USA. I reply to the gigs section on web design usually. I always ask to be paid in person, it makes it more personal for my situation.
Most of the time, you will probably end up doing some general labor for a day and make cash at the end of it.

    Hey,

If there are lots of Businesses in the locality where you live, You can go ahead and offer them a Free Service like Logo for their business and Upsell them stuffs like Mobile Website.
Even if you don't know how to make Logo or Website, Ask for Half payment before delivery and pay $5 on Fiverr to outsource the logo and mobile website.
If they don't find you credible enough since you don't have a Portfolio or website then tell them the truth that you are just starting out in your business and that he is your first client. They will be surely respect your Honesty. :)

    All the best :)

Linked to the post above, do a little bit of research of small business' in your area to see how they're promoting themselves. Then, suggest to them that they could get a lot more business when people put their name into Google by making a YouTube video. I.e. Bridal Gowns in Glasgow West End, which would be the name of their video. Then, offer them a shitload of YouTube views for a price that suits you both, but by the views from Skittles and you're making a tidy profit. Tell them you'll promote their business on HubPages too and offer (again for a price of you choice) to write a decent article for them. The good thing with HubPages is that depending on the title, you can rank high in the SERPS, and make a small amount of money through Adsense too.

You could sell posts on your sites (if you have any) and earning a small amount, not very big just a few bucks to go on and do other works

If you have spare $20 or so, an easier way to get started with creating a portfolio for local business is to see what they need from looking around (as discussed above), then start ordering a few gigs yourself that match the need. Then publish the designs, graphics, logos, etc on a blog or site you set up and claim them as your own, to serve as portfolio samples. Watch some instructional youtubes on web graphic creation to have a quick working knowledge of the field, and you're good to go for getting new orders for offline clients, that you can outsource through Fiverr and other freelancers.
