Stack Overflow now has the same number of questions being asked as when it first started.

I learned to program by starting out there, a few years before ai. Now I never been back and asked or answered anything lol.

Whats your memory of the once essential, now graveyard?

Are you still using it, or you made the switch to vibing?

Before I used to search and ask technical stuff about server related issue, now Ai is good at explaining and troubleshooting problems. Man stack overflow is gone. But its authority site, it will continue to milk organic traffic for a long time.

I rarely use it for some react native related stuff as ai tends to overcomplicate it. But there may be a problem in future for ai. Ai is trained on stackoverflow data and when it will be gone ai also will be left a bit behind.

Yeah, same here. I don’t visit it as much as I used to. Still, sometimes Stack Overflow helps when AI starts hallucinating or gets stuck—classic search can still save the day. But honestly, even that reason is fading fast.

This is not surprising, at all.

A victim of it's own success..... SO has a vast treasure trove of Q&A which LLMs would have hoovered up... only to be able to answer the same questions in a much more dynamic way.. and killing SO in the process.

In the future how will LLMs learn?

I LOVED SO earlier in my career.. I would go on their daily, it was a godsend. I used to contribute fairly actively around the topics I had developed good experience in.

In recent years before AI I used to visit the place a lot less... but with LLMs being the new cool kid on the block. I never use SO anyway.
