Sprint FTP trick?

With sprint they seem to temporarily disconnect internet if you do much ftp uploading via a PC,making you go into settings turning off data for 10 seconds or so and then turning it back on. However on the phone you can do as much uploading as possible. The problem is that the phone will heat up and stop charging or use too much energy that the computer isn't able to keep it at 100%.

If I use android in virtualbox should it somehow trick sprint into thinking that its coming from an android device and not windows? I know that using a vpn helps, but my uploads dropped from 1.0MB/s down to 0.25MB/S
