The BHW staff should do a "spring cleaning" of the market place. I have found out that bunch of old and surprisingly relatively new BST are inactive but there are lot of newbies bumping them up.

I have wrote about 3-4 different members about there BST, I was trying to get more information about there product and only one wrote me back after one month.

Also there are lot of old BST that are still are promising stuff that doesn't apply now in the 2014.

I don't believe I am the only one here that has experience this, and also would like this "spring cleaning" to really happen.

    Bump, you have my vote.
Searching for good BSTs is hard work and when you spend 20 minutes reading good and bad reviews just to get to the last page where OP stopped replying sucks..

    Yeah I know that.
And I have notice the quality that they promised usually fades away after a period of time. There should be a better system of handling this.

As a Newb I have a few observations about this: First, being unfamiliar with the format, I have replied to many posts before realizing that there are multiple pages and that OP stopped replying long ago. Of say 20 pages 10+ are filled with comments like mine of "Thank you", "Can you share more", "Is this still relevant" etc. OR "I'm going to give this a shot, I'll report my results" only to see after replying that there hasn't been a "real" response TO the OP for a very long time. Second, because I'm new I'm trying to absorb as much info as I can. I want to be involved. Because so many of the posts are as I stated above, there is a real impression that there is very little new content. Third, I love this forum. I found this site while mulling over the viability of starting a campaign as a complete rookie. Even though there are many dead threads that keep surfacing as "new", I have found a wealth of info in reading through them.

    Maybe an archive?

Great suggestion. Also, why not hire some VAs to do it if no mod wants to?

The VAs get the information and give them to mods, then mods take action.

Sounds a great plan to me.

Agreed, I also think that when a JrVIP membership lapses, their Sales thread should be removed.

Well maybe not move the thread out when JrVip lapses, but what about once a year the thread has to be revaildated by a mod as still delivering the service effectively. If this doesnt happen then the thread gets moved to a section for unverified Sales thread section.

    Just my two cents.

Keeping the market place clean is very important to the buyers and also for the sellers.

I believe the active sellers will benefit more from this as maybe one third of the BST will be removed and the buyers will be assured that all the remaining BST are up to the standards and are providing what they are promising.

Now when I brows the Market place, I really don't feel sure about most of the thread never the less they where approved by the mods 1 or 2 years ago. I will feel more sure if I know the mods are occasionally checking the quality they provide.

And also if the seller don't provide what they are promising(mistakes like they say the OBL is max 25 and its really 50+, like obvious mistakes that they are hoping your will not mind) there should be a non discussable refund.

I agree, keep it cleaned up. I am a newbie and spend a lot of time on the marketplace, only to find out I have lots of wasted time scanning thru all the old shit that doesn't work any longer.

Agreed totally. Just yesterday wasted 10 minutes reading through a year old thread that had been bumped - I was even considering a purchase.

But unfortunately this thread is pointless as the mods will not do anything about it.

I do respect the mods and they are always polite and fair and they are working hard to maintain this community to a respectable levels, but I don't know whats the reason for avoiding the market place cleanup but I don't believe it will happen any time soon.

If new people or old for that matter keep wasting money on services that don't work, it's not going to help anyone...

It should be done to keep people coming back! or they will simply go elsewhere next time.

I for one think anyone selling services using free emails should be disallowed for the good of inexperienced members who happen to fall for that trap.

One of the requirements to publish a BST should be "to have an email address hosted on your own domain name".

You'd save tons of networks, tons of naive customers and also would preserve the art of SEO for longer, rather than give the search engines every method handed to them in neat tables and reports.
