These days many reputable sports betting and poker rooms offer free no deposit bonus. I am not going to gamble with my own money (I would rather invest that in IM), but I don't see any reason why shouldn't try my luck with the bookies' or houses' money. I know $10-20 free bankroll won't make me rich even if I win, but even if I manage to win at least a few hundred dollars, that would help me with my IM endeavour. But the problem is, I don't have any knowledge about sports betting or poker. I will have to learn the rules and strategies from scratch.

Which one should I learn - sports betting or poker? Which will be easier to learn and potentially be more profitable?

    Thanks

these no deposit offers have a catch : U have to clear it first before cashing out.

Believe me its really hard. and it takes many weeks.

    Dont even try it !

In my opinion, just be prepared to lose some dough. PERIOD.

I'd learn neither because it's way too uncertain field to expect anything in return...but ofcourse there are ballers in it...but then every field has ballers in it...

advice: Do what works for you :)

Which one do you like more? You should do what you love. And if that brings in revenue, then more power to it.

Sports Betting for sure over poker, scratch cards too :) Got me 1k few years huh.... good times.

Well surely sports betting over poker, and if you watch sports, then it's even better, and it's more safe, and you know what you are doing.

I think sportbetting is better than poker. You can watch the game, read news about teams, read some betting tips..It will be better if you learn trading on betfair. It could brings you a lot of money if you have good starting bank and discipline. There are a lot of information about betfair trading, just make a search. Good luck and remember that: lay low- back high

    Cheers

Have to disagree with you on the soccer part, I barely bet soccer, because when I Do, I always lose, because soccer consists of luck as well, it can be 0:0 and then luckily a guy scores a goal and bam your $xxx goes away. Today i put cash, played a lot of games, and i was about to win in the $xxx, I won't all and bam soccer match lost, I usually play tennis because it consists of skills mostly. :) just my opinion.

Its all about predictions and money management, mate. During the last season I invested a total of $120,000 in soccer betting (about $100 per game) and got 130% ROI. Its not nearly close to the IM ROI, but nice anyway.

I tried tennis and basketball as well, but couldn't find any normal prediction site for these two. All of them suck balls (pardon my french).

If those are your two options, then definitely sports. You're not dealing with much of a bankroll, so thats not the time to start learning a game (poker) that takes years to even get to a decent skill level at. With sports, you can find solid free handicappers in forums, and if you're patient, you can at least build it up with less luck than you'd need at the tables (and much less of your own time invested)

Sports can be fun, if you know what you're doing. It's not as hard to learn as poker, and can make you money instantly. Poker on the other hand, takes a long time to master, however you can make a lot more money once you're good.
