Hello all!

I am interested in learning sports betting strategies, especially football, to make some money and predict bets. Can anyone give me some advice or a direction to start?

Also, how accurate can predictions really be?

If you want to live with your nickname, stay away from betting.

There are people who bet for years and when they draw the line they are in profit, but for such a scenario you have to have military discipline and play only what you need to play, it's a little harder to explain that mindset.

If you have no experience, stay away, don't believe in everything you see, etc.

There are thousands of fake profiles in my country, people are making money because they are cheating people, they are taking 1000 euros per game for the weekend, and thousands of them call them!

These are the profiles that show a luxurious life, driving the latest sports 6 figures cars, gold watches, the best locations but you will never see their face.

Also, they photoshop their tickets so that people who believe in "easy money" can be easily cheated.

Once again, if you are new to everything, even if you are not, you will not see any profit from it.
 
Not really worth getting into atm. You will be banned many, many times for making consistent profit, you also can get a very cold streak even if you are pro. Its not unheard of to be banned 50+ times if you are doing it for a living and that itself is a headache..
 
If you want to make money in betting, you have to be on the other side. By either promoting affiliate offers (go for revshare deals) or setting up your own betting shop.

you should go through with proper channel. you have to surfing over the internet for official website betting. if you are a beginner, then plz don't invest directly. first enhance your knowledge about it. and do follow game also. try to know the performance of all participants. research about their previous performance also. this will help you a lot.
 
There's a big difference between casino players and sports gamblers. To some degree, they both obey the same golden rule: keep them playing, they will lose more and more, even if they win here and there. But that's mostly true for casino players.

Most sports gamblers don't cross into casino gambling/poker/games. I can tell you that by looking at my 14 years old betting affiliate account. I've had my share of smart players, winning sometimes over 20k in one week and half of them (roughly) did not play the winnings back, so I ended up in a negative scenario. So not everybody is going to gamble again their winnings. Not in sports betting.

Statistical predictions work to some degree, at least they give you a hint of what might happen. It also depends on the betting market. But in the end, you should decide what to bet on which markets. I would never rely blindly on predictions alone.

There's a certain randomness in life, meaning absolutely no result is 100% sure, even if the odds are greatly in favour of a certain outcome.

I did gamble "professionally" for around 2-3 weeks and the result was broken-even. No profit, no loss. My feeling was that overall, I would lose if I'll keep doing it.
 
If you are serious about earning a consistent income from sports betting, and you reside in an allowed country, I would highly recommend using the Betfair exchange instead of a traditional bookmaker. The odds on an exchange are almost always better and your account will never be limited or banned for "winning too much".

Matched betting is a viable method of growing a starting bank, although it is not as "guaranteed" in 2022 as it was in 2008 when I was doing it. Bookmakers are wise to this method and may limit or ban an account if they suspect that it was created for the sole purpose of matched betting.

Trading is preferable to outright betting. An example of a profitable trade:

Back Chelsea in the Match Odds market for £100 at odds of 1.5 (risk £100 to make £50).

Lay them after they go a goal up for £100 at odds of 1.2 (risk £20 to make £100).

This creates a free bet. If Chelsea win, your profit is £30 (£50 - £20). If they draw or lose, your profit is £0 (£100 - £100). Your loss is also £0, hence the term 'free bet'.

Of course, as traders we want to profit regardless of the outcome. So, in the above example, we would need a second lay bet to equalise the profit across all outcomes. The equation is profit / current odds. £30 / 1.2 = £25. Lay £25 at 1.2 (risk £5 to make £25).

Now, if Chelsea win, your profit is £25 (£50 - £20 - £5 ). If they draw or lose, your profit is £25 (£100 - £100 + £25).

Nowadays, Betfair has a cash out feature so this equaliser bet no longer needs to be calculated and placed manually. Also, trading software had this feature long before Betfair implemented it on their website interface.

Solid discipline and bank management are crucial in this game. Your liability on each trade should not exceed 1% or 2% of your bank.

There's a strategy named bet arbitrage.

You'll get banned if you do it too much, but for beer money (or a little bit more), it's one of the safer ones.

You're going to take advantage of the inefficiencies of bookmakers. You'll be betting on team a/draw/team b (most of the time in two or three online casinos). As bookmakers don't give similar odds, you'd likely get around 5-10% daily.

Do it more frequently, and you'll lose the method as the operators would ban you from using your identity number.

It's not a risk-free strategy, and the potential pitfalls could be listed as follows:
  1. Changing odds (I haven't seen any major online casino doing this, but you have to be aware of smaller ones)
  2. Not giving you your winnings
  3. Locking/banning your account

You can learn more by searching the term bet arbitrage. There was a tool out there that helped calculate potential profits.

Its addictive so better stay away from it.
 
definitely stay away from betting, but if you want to predict, you can usually play mutual goals in high-stakes Dec-team matches, so the odds of playing 1-2 days in advance are high

It's called Martingale. You can use this strategy in Roulette as well. But like you said, you need to have a HUGE bankroll to protect against losing streaks.
