How bad are "sponsored by" adverts when they're obviously not real? So for example if you promote an i.Pad offer and the promotion page says that the offer is sponsored by Apple, how bad would this be? I've seen such promotion methods and was wondering if this could be classified as blackhat or fraud? I would think this is fraud and hence better of staying away from such methods of promotion.

That's fraud. Basically it's deception in hopes of personal financial gain, or harming entities in the process.

Even if the "iPad" was given as stated in the offer, and "Apple" didn't lose monetarily let alone reputably from a single potential consumer do to the offer, it'd still be fraud simply because you gained financially from it under false pretenses.

It's illegal but it can be done, register a domain at internet.bs with a fake name address and VCC etc.

Get some hosting offshore who ignore DMCAs and C&D's, again using fake info (A few host's I've been with don't mind fake info and VCC payments).

    All the best!

Domain + Hosting is the easy part. The offer and the money link is not. ;)

Regardless, I'm not into fraud but was rather interested as to certain promotion methods I have come across.

Yeah, pretty interesting to see how opportunistic\intrigued people can be, even with warning flags all around them.
