Spoke & Hub Strategy

    Im setting up a site that is effectively a brand (eg sunlight) so does not have a keyword in domain. I have bought the addresses for the keywords of the products eg Blue Widget, Green Widget. all good addresses that are keyword specific.

    Whats the best strategy for driving traffic to the main website. I was thinking of setting up blogs too each product domain and linking back to the main but im unsure how search engines will react to this.

    What the best method from your experience of making the most out of this scenario. Ultimately i want to drive as much traffic to my main sales site. How would you deal with this?

    The best advice I can give without going into a huge explanation is to search this forum for the words "linkwheel" or "pyramid" (+ structures or diagram, etc). These threads should explain what I think you are looking for.

    I have only tried getting traffic from ranking well in Google. I have created a diverse mixture of links to my sites - bookmarks, forum profiles, Article Marketing, Web 2.0 blogs, and blog commenting. So far nothing I have done seems to have a "dramatic" effect on my rankings or traffic, but I am slowly climbing in the rankings for my keywords.

    It may be that I'm not aggressive enough with my backlinking (I try not to build more than 100 links per week until my site has at least 200-300 links in Yahoo Site Explorer). But, I've never been deindexed either, I have done the "Google dance" once when I bought a 5k Xrumer blast.

    With this method, my best site was getting 250+ visitors a month in 3 months. Now it's 8 moths later and I'm getting 450+ visitors a month and rank in the top 10 for 20+ keywords.
