Gentlemen, I need your advice.

There are two companies with one owner. The first company is engaged in private transportation. The second one sells tours all over the world (US included). The website of the private transportation company has been around for about 15 years (good trusted domain). The tour company's website is newly created and online for only a few months. As I wrote in my other thread here - it barely ranks in Google.

And here came the idea to somehow combine these businesses online. Their names are almost identical, very similar. At the moment, the private transportation site has a separate menu item offering many different tours (links to the tour company site).

The first idea is to present the travel agency's website more powerfully and extensively on the private transportation website. Take advantage of the company's authority and a powerful domain. For example, add information about tours in the “about the company” section. Add banners on the pages.

The second idea is to move all tours to the private transportation website and make it commercial. And on the website of the travel agency to place informational materials on the topic of travel (remove all commercial factors).

What do you think about it? Perhaps someone has similar experience? Any suggestions?

By the way, another question - is it possible to put links between these sites in this case? The companies have different addresses, different phone numbers, different GMB profiles. I think it won't be a big deal if we show Google that these two businesses work together?

Build two websites
Interlink the best you can for good user experience.
Dont worry about rest.
Each business need a dedicated base website.

But can we sell the same products/services on those two websites?

I think best move is to use the older, trusted transportation site as the main commercial hub and host the tours there. Add strong internal pages, banners, and sections about tours to leverage its authority. Use the newer tour site for supporting content only, like travel guides and blog posts, then link back naturally. Yes, you can link between the two sites. Just be transparent and consistent in how they’re connected. Google won’t penalize if the relationship is real and clearly explained.

I would suggest using linkages in the menu bars for your purpose... Lets say on the home tour site, there's a option on the menu for International tours, which redirects to the intl site
