Always keep producing sites. SEO is a long term money maker, and most sites show full revenue potential in 6-9 months. I keep busy by building sites and automating most of my work. In the next 6 months, while you have 1 site, I probably set up 20 good ones making $100-$200 a month.

While "keep building sites" is a decent piece of advice for micro niche marketers - that's just one way of making money online.

Having said that always have more than one site - more than one niche and have them on different hosting accounts.
I run 8 sites in 4 niches (8 hosting accounts) I'll never make another site, and the niches are very varied. My lowest paying site makes me what I used to earn as a project planner in the outside (none SEO) world.

So much of the advice here on BHW in general is unqualified and just ASSUMES everyone does "long tail micro niche marketing" as if that is about the only way to make money on the internet.

I know (personally - i.e I've met them) HUNDREDS of IM guys who make a decent living or in some cases a great living online. Not a single one of them still uses micro niche/long tail/churn and burn marketing - not one.

Some of them did once up on a time - but they all moved on to sites that sell their own product, or membership sites or authority sites
Authority seems to be (and this changes from time to time) 10,000+ UV's a day minimum and various other factors like PR, age, and several thousand unique indexed URL's.

If you want to go microniche (and it is a great way to learn - it's repetition of effective site building and linking) then do that - but know it is FAR from the only way to get success in IM. It's not even the best way.
Blogging on what you know and then using effective linking techniques (and yo will need to do that) works a treat.
