Welcome to my 3rd Journey in BHW! The other 2 journeys are still active and ongoing, feel free to take a look at them, however they're focused around Amazon Affiliate Websites and I've had my fair share of success with them, I'm still working on them and improving them every day.

In this journey I'll be taking the next step. I've always wanted to start this and in fact, I indeed tried it back in 2015 in my Country however I found some major setbacks which led me to quit, the problem was that I live in a relatively small country (Portugal) with only 10 million people, obviously this means that there's a very little IF AT ALL demand for SEO, and after taking a closer look at keywords the only ones that brought traffic were based in the major cities in my country (Porto and Lisbon) which also meant that there was a huge competition dominated by the big companies.

However I recently read a comment by @Sv1z3c mentioning he was from Croatia and still had several clients from USA so I decided to try it as well, would also like to thank him for all the help and information he has provided me with from his own experience in this type of business.

I would also like to mention @SEOMemj for sharing his own experiences and inspiring me as well as answering some of my answers!

    Who am I?
I've been into IM since 2010, started with a movie site and tried the old black hat spammy tactics to rank it, unfortunately I wasn't very successful, I was a complete newbie at the time and very young (14 years old). Shortly after my 15th birthday I started doing Sharecash + Youtube with gaming hacks and cheats method, as well as some other niches, this worked exceptionally well for the next 3 or so years, I was young and didn't care THAT much about money so sometimes I just stopped doing anything at all for a few months then return right after. Made a few thousands and then moved on.

~2013 I started CPA with CPALead and tested facebook scripts which were quite famous at the time, had some success and made ~2-5k total, however most of it was from my
1 DAY RECORD which still remains until today of 2K in a single day, problem with facebook scripts is that they were easily and quickly deleted, they lasted at most a day or two.

2014 was when I officially began with SEO, started with GSA and started ranking my youtube videos and blogspots, this improved my youtube method a lot and more than doubled my earnings, ever since I kept reading about SEO and eventually began different projects focusing solely on SEO.

2016 I started my amazon affiliate websites which have been quite successful so far as seen in my previous journeys, at this point I had already plenty of websites ranked under my belt and knew the in's and out's of SEO (so to speak).

What I will be doing in this Journey Thread

To begin with I thought about the niche, for this I had to know my own limitations, I see a lot of people doing the mistake of promising clients some sort of godlike rankings for extremely hard keywords in extremely competitive niches without a care in the world as long as the client paid, this is no better than being a straight up scammer UNLESS you're actually able to do so which I doubt unless you're charging mid to high thousands.

So for this I thought about a niche that met these requirements:
    • Client gets 300$+ per sale
    • Unsaturated / Easy to rank niche for local keywords

The reason why I look for a niche where the client gets 300$+ per sale is because these types of business tend to be quite profitable hence business owners are more likely to be willing to invest in SEO as well as they only need a few clients to break even on their SEO costs.

It wont be that easy to find a good niche that is easy to rank and where the client gets 300$+ in profit per sale, however when you do focus solely on that niche ONLY.

Benefits of focusing on a single niche at the start:
    • Relationship Building
    • If you manage to rank some websites they can be used as testimonial / example for new clients
    • Easier to keep track.

After finding my niche I proceeded to planning my Client Outreach strategy.

I will start with email outreach and wait some time, I will be testing 2 to 3 different types of emails and keep track of their reply conversion rate, this is called the A/B Testing and is extremely important to optimize your conversion for a long term business model.

    To keep it simple:
Higher conversion = more money + less work + less time wasted

I also recommend you to take a look at Paigham Bot from @Skyebug77 as I will be using it and seems quite promising with a ton of features that will make your life easier!

So what I've done so far:
    • Found 2 Niches (Will start with 1, optimize my email outreach campaign then proceed to the next within 1-2 months)
    • Wrote a couple of different emails that I believe will convert decently well.
    • Setup SEO Agency gmail account.
    • Created excel sheet with all the information I'll need to keep track of.
    • Sent ~60-70 emails to local businesses in the USA.
    • Got Paigham Bot which I'll be using within the next few days (Will explain how)

    To do:
    • Optimize the emails for higher conversion
    • Think of how much I should price my services at
    • Create a spreadsheet of quick/customizable answers to clients common questions (Comes from experience)
    • Create 3 different SEO Plans depending on how much client is paying (Will probably be 250$ - 500$ - 1000$ Plans) while keeping in mind my own profit, this will greatly vary depending on keyword difficulty.

    • Thanks Thanks x 4

    Thanks!

    Yea he is :D

I found myself with too much time in my hands even after having those 2 journeys, gotta find something to ocupy my time.

No but seriously I want to get to a point where I really am financially stable with IM money alone and there's nothing better for that than a subscription system.

Thanks :) I have more stuff planned but I just can't share since that's the trademark of every single business amirite?

I wouldn't even consider the $250.00 price point unless you can outsource to (competent) staff or are going to hire in house staff. Too much work for too little reward. People glamorize SEO however keyword research, competitor research, META optimisation, on page optimisation etc are tedious tasks which require a lot of concentration to do the job right. I would concentrate on higher paying clients, more pay and less stress.

To be fair my minimum was already set to be 500$ but I also heard some more experienced people say that you should be flexible.

I am willing to go down to 250$ for very easy keywords on cities without that much population.

Good luck on your journey. SEO is a competitive niche in general, but you seem to think things out well, I know youll succeed. Do not hesitate to contact me on skype if you need any advice or assistance. Will be following along as well.

Also, you might consider besides just focusing on seo, perhaps also consider lead generation for companies as well. SEO is a good niche, but often takes a while, and what customers really want are sales. If you can provide both as a combined service it would have a lot of selling appeal. Something to think about at least.

To be honest that's a great idea, however, I'm a complete newbie regarding lead gen, I literally got no experience with it. But I know that @royserpa knows a lot about it :D

Would have to dedicate a lot of time into reading & experimenting and honestly, without having prior experience I really don't want to promise leads without being able to actually deliver them due to lack of experience.

I realize a lot of SEO Agencies out there don't care about being able to deliver or not as long as they get paid but for me I'm looking for long term clients that will vouch for me any day, as such I really want to rely on things that I know I'm capable of.

To be honest, I don't mind using it for T1 with very extreme/strict filters and only a few platforms selected, but I won't be using it for clients, only for tier 2+

Hahaha yea sorry, couldn't find the default color

    UPDATE 1

So today I spent the majority of my day fiddling with Paigham Bot, also had a chat with @SEOMemj and he helped me with some doubts I had and also suggested me some stuff to do until I found a constant source of clients, as well as helping me optimize my email campaigns.

    • Created UPWork Profile and Applied to 9 Jobs.
Took me ~1 hour to completely fill up my Upwork profile with real information and to look as professional as possible, I was also declines like 4 times until I went for some... Black hat tactics to get accepted. Apparently no new SEO'ers are needed in UPWorker so I had to do this to get accepted or I'd just keep getting declined regardless.

Applied to 9 Jobs related to SEO, only applied to Jobs with a minimum of 300$ Pay that asked for things that I know I could accomplish and that fit my skill set.

I don't plan on spending too much time on UPWork, it's just to find some clients until I get a constant source of clients, if I get 1-2 accepted requests per month it already helps get my income up.
    • Bought 10 Dedicated Proxies for Paigham Bot.
Went with 10 dedicated proxies for Paigham Bot, however have had a ton of problems with the bot which was messing up my scrapes. The owner @Skyebug77 helped me through skype and we eventually found a nice alternative for scraping. Will still use the Paigham Bot Contact Page Submitter for mass emailing as I believe it's the best bot available on the market right now for this kind of stuff.
    • Sent ~800 Emails using 2 different Email Templates.
I intend to see which email template converts best, the initial 80-150 Emails I sent in the past days were also with a different email template.
    • Created a new keyword list for scraping on my second niche.
The first niche ended up with ~1000 emails sent, not too bad but not great either but it was to be expected since it was quite a limited niche, in fact I should say that it was an EXTREMELY limited niche.
As such I moved on to my second niche which is a lot broader and created ~60-70 keyword variations each of these 60-70 also has 2 keyword variations for a total of 120-140 keywords however it should have a high duplicate URL rate. Considering the first niche had at most 30-35 keyword I believe I could easily get 10-20K Emails sent for this niche.

Only bad news so far is that I haven't gotten a single reply yet from the 80-150 emails I sent in the previous days, but that's to be expected as local businesses can take up to 1-2 weeks to check their email.
