I am working on an old site i created some time ago, the site has already started to rank with zero backlinking, and about 170 different pages, some unique, some not. However, I have about 15 different subdomains on this domain, and I think a lot of the subdomains rank, because of the authority/tf/cf whatever of the root domain.

So my question is it safe to blast the subdomain with gsa links? (high pr, not just random links.
Or should i created web to properties and point them to the site?

The things is I do not want to risk all the subdomains, as some of the bring me "passive" or a consistent flow of money.
But, the new site has a great churn and burn potentian, that why I am considering this.
And if this is not advsisable, you guys think it will rank as good if I clone the site and put it up on a fresh domain?

Thanks guys, you are the best

It's best to use gsa links as tier2, and you can use some high quality followed links on tier1. That's the safest route to take, but then it all depends on how hard you want to push.

Waht I am trying to figure out is if the root domain and other subdomain will suffer penalty, if the subdomain I am spamming get penalized, which it will at a certain point if I start my massive link building campaign.

In theory Google treats the subdomains as different sites, but I am not quite sure if that's been followed these days.

In fact, Google can penalize a site on domain level, subdomain level or even on a page level. So, it's almost safe to believe that the penalty will not pass onto your root domain. Think of wordpress, tumblr etc where tons of spam links are being sent to thousands of subdomains.

That said, I may be wrong here, as I haven't tested this scenario yet.
