    Hi everyone.

Whenever I see spam comments come in on one of my niche blogs I'm conflicted as to whether or not I should approve them.

If I approve them, do they count toward characters and content on the page, and as a site 'update', hence good for SEO?

Or will they harm my own rankings because they're not exactly topical?

    What do you think?

for sure the same comment was/will be posted on thousands more websites, so definitely not worth approving it.. whats the point of moderating the comments if you approve spam? either moderate or leave it open :)

    Hi OP,

Indeed, I may accept spam comments. Why? Is Commoner insane or gone berserk?
No, I'm perfectly fine in a stable state. I let these comments run for a win-win situation as my belief is that commenting structure is important.

However, moderation in comments is an art as you have to remove certain links like ***Tube or Backlink (Obvious), use your PBN or Tier structures.

Everyone aids everyone, win-win and conaiseres done.

    All The Best,
    Commoner

If the comments are random, irrelevant, and include links to other websites, you should delete them. The more links on a page, the lower it's rankings.
