Sorting threads by "thanks"

What if we could sort threads based on how many thanks were given to the first post? It would be amazing to save time sorting through info for newbies, or in fast moving sections of the forum.

Any thoughts on this?

if its possible make it by thanks density as well. So if there is a post with only 100 views but 50 thanks then that should be rated high.

I should mention that the first 5 pages of "most thanked" posts will probably be of downloads lol. Then again, IF we ever figure out how to do this, we might be able to skip that section in the search.

i would think this would be a good idear you would most likely have to get someone to program it fresh for a high price to have the script

I don't see why you cant just make it so that everytime some1 in thanked a number (kept with the thread) is incremented, then just sort these numbers from highest to lowest and each set of numbers will refer back to the thread? Or do you not have enough freedom to do that?

post with a lot of thanks tend to have a lot of thanks tend to have a lot of views. In my first week here I sorted by most viewed, and most commented on. Easy way to get up to speed.
