I have lurked for a while, and I've tried out some tools, but from what I've seen it's confusing so I apologize for this if it's obvious BUT:

Most of these solutions-senuke, xrumer, etc, seem to quickly duplicate advertisements (general idea for backlinks/blogs/etc) for a single product.

I need SEO done for my store, which has lots of products, and seems like it wouldn't scale the same using those tools or the packages offered. Am I approaching the concept in the wrong way, or is it simply different than what I'm thinking? I have SeNuke, but I'm still playing around with it.

I understand that ranking a bunch of pages/blogs/cheap links will make the main page grow, but I'm having difficulty in trying to comprehend the risk here-does the engine blast work the same way (successful) for a complex site versus a simple 1 page commission sales product?

I find it generally easier to rank a site with many subpages, rather than a 1 page commission sales product. Your question is worded a bit awkward so I'm not sure I understand what you are asking, but these tools used properly do not post duplicates generally you should spin your content so it is unique.

There is no reason an ecommerce site could not benefit from SEO tools used smartly. Which means not "blasting" links, drip them slowly, deliver some semblance of value on your tier 1's (I don't recommend auto-generated content but rather hand spun content). I would still vary anchor text, but obviously you will target many keywords for each of your product pages. I.e.
