Sony made a mistake when they sued that guy, I mean what's the point in suing the guy when the new systems will be out in the next 2 years? It took nearly 5 years to even make progress towards hacking the PS3.

By the time hacking a PS3 and playing games on it for free is easy to do, it won't be the latest and greatest thing. They shouldn't be singling out individuals, just ban those who attempt to mod and get online. Most games are only worth getting because of the multiplayer and modding isn't worth it if you can't play online.

To me Sony brought this on themselves, but I'm sure this whole thing won't last long anyway since Sony will track these guys down and sue them as well.

And all the PS3 had to do was bring back the "Install custom operating system" option back.
