So I discovered that a very popular forum I use (I'm sure even many of you use it), does not "no-follow" their links. So I posted in the market section with a nice decently long description and a large anchor text backlink.

If I search on Google my keyword, on page three my post from that forum show up. However, this does NOT show up on Alexa or Webmaster tools.

Now to domain is PR4. But the post is n/a. Is this the cause? will building backlinks to the post fix this?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what Alexa or Webmaster tools report. Is the post cached by google? If so, Google know about the backlink, they may not report it in webmaster tools for many reasons, you may just need to be patient.

Just think of the link as a nice diversification to your link profile. I wouldn't spent much more time than that.

You can build backlinks to the post but it might not change anything as far a PR. But hey, it's not a bad idea to build backlinks to your tiered links. And if your link is showing up in Google rest assured they know about it.
