Let paypal know immediately and then just change your password. They will look into it, check the IP's, and take care of it.

They are actually really good when it comes to fraud transactions like that.

That is not the only way how they can see your logins. For example, if you use wifi connection and somebody is sniffing packets you are wide open. No matter is it http or https , sslstrip and similar packages on linux are removing ssl, making protection useless.

You may have a keyloger on your computer, just because you have good security dose not mean that your system has not been compromised.

It's possible that you set up a billing agreement with this company and forgot about it... 99% of the time this is the case. It's just rare that a paypal account gets hacked. I'm sure it wasn't a large amount of money? Paypal would have halted the transaction if over 250 and from a different IP.

It is too bad that this happened. Hard telling how he got your info. But change your password and yes let paypal know so they can be on the lookout for this in the near future.

Are you sure? It's not like it's out of context for a BHW member. :) It could be a sister site that just shares a billing email.

If you use firefox, get Keyscrambler. Adds another layer of protection if a keylogger does get on your computer.

Don't be so sure about your firewall. It is just part of/a software after all and softwares get cracked/hacked etc.

    Nope. That's not true.

99% Paypal gets hacked because of same password on multiple sites. Let's say a big website is compromised and the database became public (that's common if you read news), then cracker grab millions of email and password combination and try to login into Paypal with automated tools. And people who used same password on Paypal as on compromised websites gets their Paypal login in crackers hand.

Almost every latest Keylogger is able to bypass Ketscramble. : )
Best way to be protected is avoid using Windows and common software such as Adobe Reader and be up-to-date about computer security.
