Someone told me he can do retargeting without facebook pixel

He told me that he uses a private AI system and that he can use to retarget and he told me it will be risky to use pixel because we do crypto ads
he told me this when i asked him if we can backup the pixel in case that the acc get shutdown. he smells like a fluff what do you guys think?
so basically he want to run ads without a pixel

It’s possible to retarget users on Facebook without relying on the Pixel.

You can use Facebook’s Engagement Custom Audiences to reach people who have already interacted with your ads or content
Another option is uploading your own customer lists, like email addresses or phone numbers, to create custom audiences for retargeting,
Additionally, you can build Lookalike Audiences from these custom audiences, which helps you find new users who are similar to your best existing customers, further expanding your targeting options.

I think he is selling his apps by that marketing strategy. Adding a Pixel is a good way to follow your results. If the apps are famous and allowed by Meta, why he hide it and not tell you clearly about that.

I understand what he's trying to do but it's really difficult to get good results if we lack a good set of pixels

Because this type of advertising violates FB's policy, accounts can easily be disabled. Using pixels will not be very effective because accounts and BMs can easily be disabled. You should still use pixels if possible.

Using Facebook Pixel for cryptocurrency advertising can be risky due to strict advertising policies that often result in account bans. To mitigate this risk, consider creating multiple ad accounts to ensure you have a backup option if one is disabled.

Sounds like he's trying to overpromise. Retargeting without Facebook Pixel is not standard and usually less accurate. For crypto, it's better to stay cautious and work with trusted methods or experienced providers.

This type of ad is easily blocked by Facebook for violating policies. Pixel still helps with tracking and optimization, but you should not rely on it because BM and account can go down at any time. You should prepare a backup account and an alternative plan.

Facebook precision retargeting requires a pixel or some verified data source. ask him to send some screenshots of the tool, let's wait for the answer

Running retargeting ads on Facebook without the pixel is almost impossible. For crypto ads, the main risk of account deactivation stems from the ad content, not the pixel itself. Stay mindful of your messaging—it really matters.

Running crypto ads without a Pixel greatly limits your ability to track and optimize conversions effectively. His claim about a “private AI system” sounds vague and possibly unreliable — especially if he can't explain how it works. If he avoids backup or transparent tracking, it's a red flag and could cost you more in the long run.

The idea that Pixels are unnecessary for advertising is a myth. Pixels are a must-have tool for optimizing conversion campaigns, retargeting effectively, and measuring true ROI. Without Pixels, Facebook ads will be blind to performance, resulting in wasted budgets and losing the ability to fully exploit this platform in today's digital age.
